Stem, Inc. has announced the successful deployment of its PowerTrack Platform at Border Basin Solar, a 152 MWdc (120 MWac) utility-scale solar project in Hancock County, Ohio.

The facility, owned and developed by Energix US, LLC, is now operational and delivering clean energy into the PJM Interconnection market, marking a milestone for Energix as it surpasses 1 GW in its U.S. portfolio within the PJM market.

Full-Scope Support from Design to Handoff

Stem supported the Border Basin project across its entire deployment lifecycle, from conceptual design through factory preparation, commissioning, and operator handoff.

According to the announcement, the company combined upfront engineering, panel shop assembly and pre-configuration, Factory Acceptance Testing, on-site commissioning, utility witness testing, and remote support to bring the facility online with full visibility from day one.

The deployment included PJMnet integration, power plant controls, local SCADA, communications and networking hardware, and meteorological stations.

PowerTrack Software provides cloud-based monitoring, performance analytics, alerting, reporting, and remote data backup and now serves as the power plant control, data acquisition, and monitoring backbone for the site.

Leadership Perspectives on the Milestone

Matt Tappin, President of Software at Stem, emphasized that bringing a project online is only part of the equation for utility-scale developers like Energix. "Long-term success depends on reliable operations, clear visibility into asset performance, and the right technical support," Tappin said.

He added that Stem is proud to support Energix as the company continues to expand its solar portfolio and focus on maximizing the performance and long-term value of its assets.

Zvi Tvizer, Country Manager and COO at Energix Renewables, described Border Basin as an important milestone for the company as it surpasses 1 GW in its U.S. portfolio in the PJM market.

"Stem's PowerTrack platform gives our operations team the real-time visibility and performance insight we need to maximize production and ensure reliable, long-term operation of the facility," Tvizer said.
