Lisbon-headquartered EDP, S.A., announced on October 19, 2026, that it has secured a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with a global technology company for the clean energy generated by a 250 MWac (351 MWdc) solar project in Arkansas, US.
The agreement was secured through EDP's 71.4% owned subsidiary, EDP Renewables, S.A. (EDPR).
Alignment with Business Plan Framework
As presented in its 2026-28 Business Plan, EDP's investment decisions are taken under an investment framework with clear risk-return criteria thresholds, including an IRR-WACC spread greater than 250 basis points.
The company disclosed the information pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of Article 17 of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Recent Contracting Momentum in the US
Since July 2025, EDP has contracted 1.7 GW of solar and BESS greenfield capacity in the US, with expected energy delivery for 2026-28.
The newly announced Arkansas agreement adds to this volume.

Powering Ahead: Why the United States' Energy Leaders Never Track Projects Manually Again
How much revenue slips through the cracks when a grid modernization tender in the United States goes unnoticed? In a sector where transmission upgrades, renewable integrations, and peaker plant developments move at breakneck speed, staying ahead of the project pipeline is no longer optional; it's the difference between winning contracts and watching competitors sign them.
Manually piecing together intelligence from scattered news reports, utility filings, and government databases is slow, error-prone, and costly. The Global Project Tracking (GPT) platform by Blackridge Research consolidates everything into a single, continuously updated dashboard built for power sector professionals across the US.
From early-stage announcements to final commissioning, you get complete visibility into every stage of the project lifecycle, so your business development team can act months before the competition even knows an opportunity exists.
