Contract Scope and Responsibilities

DEME's contract covers multiple critical aspects of the offshore wind farm construction. The company will handle the transport and installation of 35 foundations that will support the wind turbines. Additionally, DEME will be responsible for installing the offshore substation, a crucial component for collecting and transmitting the generated electricity. The contract also includes scour protection works, which are essential for protecting the foundations from erosion caused by water currents around the structures.

Vessel Deployment and Equipment

DEME will deploy several specialized vessels from its fleet to execute the contract. The floating offshore installation vessel, Green Jade, will be a key asset in the project's operations. This vessel is owned and operated by CDWE and holds the distinction of being the first of its kind designed and built in Taiwan. For the scour protection works, DEME will deploy a dedicated rock placement vessel.

This specialized equipment will be used to place protective materials around the foundations to prevent seabed erosion. The deployment of multiple vessels demonstrates the scale and complexity of the installation work required for the Formosa 4 project.
