Bluebird Solar has secured a 278 MW solar photovoltaic module supply order from Bridge & Roof Company (India) Limited, covering two renewable energy projects being developed by SJVN in western India.
Details of the Order
The contract covers the supply of 600 Wp M10R N-Type TOPCon Dual Glass Bifacial solar PV modules across two project sites. Bluebird Solar will supply modules for a 133 MW solar project located in Khavda, Gujarat, and a 145 MW project in Nawa, Rajasthan. Together, the two projects account for the full 278 MW covered by the order.
The contract was placed by Bridge & Roof Company (India) Limited, the engineering, procurement and construction contractor responsible for executing the SJVN projects.
The order marks Bluebird Solar's involvement in public sector renewable energy infrastructure being developed by SJVN, a government-linked enterprise active across multiple states in India.

Manufacturing Base and Current Capacity
Bluebird Solar currently operates a 2.5 gigawatt fully automated solar PV module manufacturing facility located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The facility serves utility-scale, commercial, industrial, and residential markets across India.
The company positioned the latest supply order as reinforcing its standing as a domestic solar module manufacturer at a time when India is actively seeking to build out indigenous production capacity across the renewable energy supply chain.
Expansion Plans
Beyond its existing module manufacturing operations, Bluebird Solar has outlined plans to significantly expand its production footprint. The company intends to establish 2.5 gigawatts of solar cell production capacity, in addition to developing wafer and ingot manufacturing facilities. These steps would move the company further upstream in the solar manufacturing supply chain.
Bluebird Solar also stated plans to diversify into Battery Energy Storage Systems as part of a broader strategy to build an integrated clean energy manufacturing ecosystem. The company did not provide a timeline for these expansion efforts in its announcement.
Policy Context
Bluebird Solar connected the order to India's national renewable energy targets, stating that the contract supports the country's goal of achieving 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel energy capacity. The deployment of high-efficiency solar technologies, the company said, is central to reaching that national objective.
India has set this 500 GW target as a cornerstone of its long-term energy transition strategy, and domestic manufacturing has increasingly been positioned by both government policy and industry participants as essential to achieving that scale reliably and cost-effectively.
The SJVN projects in Khavda and Nawa, for which Bluebird Solar will now supply modules, form part of the broader pipeline of utility-scale solar infrastructure being built out across Gujarat and Rajasthan, two states that have become focal points for large-scale solar development in India owing to their high irradiation levels and available land.
The N-Type TOPCon Dual Glass Bifacial module technology specified in the contract represents one of the higher-efficiency module formats currently deployed at utility scale, capable of generating power from both the front and rear surfaces of the panel and designed for durability in outdoor installation conditions.
