Bison Energy Signs Offtake Agreement with Tokyo Gas for 240 MW Grid-Scale Battery Storage
Bison Energy Co., Ltd., a global developer and investor for environmentally friendly renewable energy projects, has entered into an offtake agreement with Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (Japnas Gas Provider) covering a portfolio of grid-scale battery storage projects with a combined capacity of 240 megawatts, the Tokyo-headquartered renewable energy developer announced.
Agreement Covers Four Battery Storage Projects Slated for 2029 Commissioning
The offtake contract encompasses four battery storage facilities that are scheduled to begin operations in 2029. Together, the projects total 240MW in capacity.
Bison Energy stated that the agreement secures long-term revenue visibility across the targeted projects and is expected to further strengthen the company's business foundation.
Bison Energy is headquartered in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan, and is led by representative Zhang Hengbo. Tokyo Gas, the counterparty to the agreement, is headquartered in Kaigan, Minato-ku, Tokyo, and is led by President Shinichi Sasayama.
Details of Individual Projects to Be Disclosed Progressively
Bison Energy noted that it will continue advancing development of the projects covered under the contract. The company indicated that details regarding each individual project are planned to be released on a rolling basis going forward, but no specific project locations or further technical specifications were disclosed at the time of the announcement.
