Adani Enterprises subsidiary, Kutch Copper Limited, is set to establish the world’s largest single-location copper manufacturing plant. The first phase of construction is scheduled to commence by the end of March. The plant will be located in Mundra, Gujarat. The facility, valued at USD 1.2 billion, will have a production capacity of 1 million metric tons and is projected to be operational by March 2029

Kutch Copper Limited, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, is setting up the greenfield copper refinery project. For phase-1 the capacity will be 0.5 million metric tons per year. The phase 2 expansion will increase the refined copper capacity up to 1 million tons per year. Phase 1 construction is in advanced stages, and the plant is expected to be operational by 2024.

The refinery will significantly decrease India's dependence on copper imports, currently met primarily by Chile, Peru, and the Congo. This will improve India's trade balance and reduce its vulnerability to global price fluctuations. The project is expected to create thousands of jobs during construction and operation, boosting the local economy in Mundra and surrounding areas.
