Thailand intends to construct the Kanchanaburi-Yangbai motorway as part of whopping USD 44.8 billion budget

Thailand's Ministry of Transportation has declared and drawn out a massive highway network expansion plan. Thailand's transportation hub linkages with neighboring nations will also be considerably enhanced and improved as a result of the project plan. This plan calls for the construction of eight new expressways totaling 5,000 kilometers in length.

 

A 1,660-kilometer highway will connect Songkhla, Thailand, and Chiang Rai, Thailand, while a 490-kilometer highway, Surin and Bang Kham, will connect Huinong and Ramchabang, Thailand. It will be linked by a 470-kilometer motorway. There will also be an 880-kilometer motorway connecting Ubon Ratchathani and Ratchada. It's also worth noting that a 190-kilometer motorway is being built to connect Thailand's main island with Phuket.

Thailand's transportation development plans include a budget of $44.8 billion dollars. The 96-kilometer M81 link between Kanchanaburi and Yangbai and the 196-kilometer M6 link between Bang Pa-in and Nakhon Ratchasima are the two highway projects.

 

This is part of Thailand’s plan for new infrastructure projects worth 1.4 trillion baht this year. According to Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob, the projects are estimated to generate 154,000 new jobs.

 

"These large investment plans will increase Thailand's economic structure so it can move forward without interruption," Mr. Saksayam stated.
