NTPC Renewable Energy has invited bids for the supply and distribution of solar modules for the 1200 MW Khavda solar power project in Gujarat. The scope of work comprises the manufacturing, supply, packing, forwarding, and transportation of open-category crystalline solar modules.
The last date for submission of bids is March 5th, 2024, and the bids will be opened on the same day. The project, named the Khavda Solar Project (North Block), will require 1,515 MWp of open-category crystalline solar modules, divided across four blocks of 378.75 MWp each.
NTPC REL is seeking bids for the manufacturing, supply, packing, and transportation of these modules. There will be two stages to the tender process, with the first stage concentrating on technical and commercial aspects and the second stage including the price bid.
The applicants must submit USD 270 for the bidding document. To qualify for the bid, companies must demonstrate experience in supplying solar photovoltaic modules or cells with a combined capacity of 40 MW or more, with at least one order exceeding 10 MW.
They must also meet specific average annual turnover requirements based on the number of blocks they bid for. The project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in the region and contribute to Gujarat's renewable energy targets.
The Khavda Project is a truly monumental undertaking, aiming to be the world's largest renewable energy park, located in the vast salt deserts of Gujarat, India, bordering Pakistan. This park will harness the power of both solar and wind, with the ultimate goal of generating a staggering 30 GW of clean energy.
The project covers an area of 72,400 hectares (approximately 280 square miles) in the Thar Desert, near the village of Khavda. This capacity consists of a mix of solar and wind power, making it a truly sustainable venture.
