Location Details 

On January 21, 2022, Intel announced the selection of the location for the New Albany Semiconductor Plant. Intel selected the Licking County portion of the New Albany International Business Park as the location for this fabrication plant.

The factory enjoys several benefits due to its advantageous location in New Albany, Ohio, including its solid infrastructure, closeness to technological clusters, and highly trained employees.

The position provides advantageous logistical opportunities for the allocation of completed goods and the shipment of raw materials.

Project Scope

Intel has selected Bechtel to carry out the most extensive building project to date. The project will consist of two phases. Bechtel is expected to complete the first phase by the year 2025. Bechtel will be responsible for the design and construction of the first phase of the Intel Ohio project. This phase will consist of a total facility area of 57.392 acres, including 13.774 acres of cleanroom space.

Construction will require an amount of steel equivalent to eight Eiffel Towers and a volume of building material comparable to the world's tallest skyscrapers. It is anticipated that the first phase of the project, which is the biggest single private-sector investment in the history of Ohio, will result in the creation of 10,000 employment opportunities, out of which 3,000 will be at Intel and 7,000 will be in construction throughout the duration of the building process.
