Finnish construction company YIT and trading firm XTX Markets have signed an agreement for the interior finishing phase, building services engineering (MEP), and commissioning of the third data center at XTX Markets' campus in Kajaani, Finland.

The agreement follows the successful completion of the shell and core phase for the facility, according to an investor news release issued by YIT Corporation on September 25, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.

The new phase of work is scheduled to start in late 2026. The parties have agreed not to disclose the contract value.

Part of a USD 1.138 billion investment program

The data center complex in Kajaani is part of XTX Markets' broader investment program, which aims to secure the company's future computing capacity. XTX Markets has previously announced plans to invest more than USD 1.1381 billion in developing a state-of-the-art data center campus in Kajaani.

Aleksi Laine, EVP of YIT's Infrastructure segment, said the selection of YIT to deliver the interior finishing phase and MEP works of the third data center demonstrates the strength of the partnership between the two companies and confidence in YIT's ability to execute demanding projects safely, to a high standard, and on schedule.

"Our long-term collaboration allows us to continuously improve our operating practices and further enhance project efficiency. We are delighted to continue supporting XTX Markets in the expansion of its data center campus in Kajaani," Laine said in the release.

Third facility in a series begun in 2024

YIT is delivering three data centers for XTX Markets in Kajaani. The companies agreed on the construction of the first data center in 2024, and the second data center was announced in 2025. YIT announced the construction of the third data center in July 2026.

The latest agreement for the fit-out and MEP works of the third facility continues that sequence of projects. The companies did not disclose the contract value for the newly signed agreement.

YIT's data center track record in Finland

YIT has been building data centers in Finland for more than a decade and is currently involved in several data center projects across the country. According to the company, extensive experience, a proven track record in delivering complex projects, and the trust of its customers have strengthened YIT's position as Finland's leading data center constructor.

The Kajaani project announcement comes as YIT maintains an active project pipeline across its business lines. Recent announcements from the company include the construction of the Jätkäsaari swimming and sports center in Helsinki, valued at USD 107 million to YIT; an expanded collaboration with data center operator atNorth on a new facility at the FIN04 campus in Kouvola; and the Oulu Passenger Rail Yard project, valued at USD 34.14 million to YIT.
