Waaree Solar Americas, the U.S.-based subsidiary of India's Waaree Energies Limited, has announced a 236.22 MW solar module supply contract for a utility-scale project in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, adding another major order to its expanding American portfolio and reinforcing the company's domestic manufacturing strategy.
Contract Details and Module Specifications
The agreement calls for Waaree Solar Americas to supply its N-Type G12R photovoltaic modules in two bin classes, 615-watt peak and 620-watt peak, to power the Flemingsburg project.
The modules will be produced at the company's manufacturing facility located in Brookshire, Texas, positioning the supply as a Made-in-America product at a time when demand for domestically manufactured solar components is intensifying across the United States.
The announcement represents one of the more significant single-project orders the company has disclosed publicly in recent months. Waaree Solar Americas described the contract as a further addition to its growing portfolio of utility-scale projects across the country.
Growing U.S. Order Book and Strategic Positioning
The Kentucky contract contributes to what the parent company, Waaree Energies Limited, describes as a total order book of 53,000 crore rupees, reflecting demand for its domestically manufactured solar solutions across key markets.
The United States is characterized by Waaree as one of its most strategic growth markets, driven by accelerating renewable energy deployment, increasing demand for domestically manufactured components, and the development of a resilient local solar supply chain.
Sunil Rathi, Executive Director of Waaree Group, said the order reflects growing confidence among utility-scale developers in the company as a domestic manufacturing partner.
"Our Made-in-America modules combine advanced technology, superior quality and dependable execution, attributes that have become increasingly important as the U.S. solar industry continues to scale," Rathi said.
"The United States remains a key strategic market for Waaree, and this contract further strengthens our order book while reinforcing our long-term commitment to supporting America's clean energy transition through world-class domestic manufacturing."

Kentucky's Clean Energy Ambitions
According to the announcement, the Flemingsburg project is expected to contribute to Kentucky's broader clean energy objectives. Waaree Solar Americas framed the project as an example of domestically manufactured solar infrastructure supporting both energy security and long-term sustainability goals at the state level.
The company did not disclose the identity of the project developer or the offtake arrangements associated with the Kentucky installation. No timeline for module delivery or project completion was provided in the announcement.
Texas Manufacturing Base at the Center of Strategy
The Brookshire, Texas, facility is central to Waaree Solar Americas' ability to fulfill its domestic supply commitments. By manufacturing the modules within the United States, the company positions itself to meet the requirements of buyers seeking domestically produced content, an increasingly important consideration given evolving federal policy around solar supply chains and manufacturing incentives.
Waaree Solar Americas describes itself as a manufacturer serving utility-scale, commercial, and distributed generation projects across North America. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, which is headquartered in Mumbai, India, with its registered address in Borivali East and its corporate office in Goregaon.
Broader Market Context
The announcement reflects a wider trend in the U.S. solar industry, where developers and buyers are increasingly turning to suppliers with established domestic manufacturing capacity.
Waaree Solar Americas cited the evolution of a resilient local supply chain as a factor driving opportunity in the American market, alongside the accelerating pace of renewable energy deployment nationally.
The company's Brookshire facility allows it to produce high-efficiency N-Type modules at scale, with the G12R product line representing its current offering for large utility-scale applications.
The 615 Wp and 620 Wp specifications offered under this contract are consistent with the high-wattage module formats that have become standard in utility-scale solar procurement.
With the Kentucky contract now on the books, Waaree Solar Americas indicated it continues to invest in building out its domestic manufacturing ecosystem to serve what it described as one of the world's fastest-growing solar markets.
