Vertical Data Inc., the Las Vegas-based AI infrastructure company traded on the OTCQB under the ticker VDTA, has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire an existing industrial data center site in the Sollefteå Municipality of Central Sweden, the company announced on September 11, 2026.
The acquisition, to be executed through its majority-owned subsidiary Vertical Data Nordic AB, covers a site currently operating with 4.5 megawatts of power capacity, with an application already underway to expand that capacity to as much as 100 megawatts.
Site Location and Power Potential
The property is situated within the Hamre Industrial Park in Sollefteå Municipality, a location that the local government has publicly stated is connected to up to 500 megawatts of available grid capacity.
Central Sweden's climate, access to renewable hydroelectric power, fiber connectivity, and transportation infrastructure are cited by the company as factors that make the area strategically attractive for large-scale data center development.
Vertical Data's chief executive officer and chairman, Deven Soni, described the agreement as an opportunity to expand the company's data center footprint outside of the United States.
"This agreement provides Vertical Data with an excellent opportunity to expand our data center footprint outside of the US in an area within Central Sweden that is powered by renewable hydroelectricity and backed by a local government that is actively supporting data center development in the area," Soni said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
Soni also placed the Swedish project within a broader pipeline of development activity, noting that it is one of several projects the company is actively pursuing.
"This project is one of several in our active conversion pipeline representing 250 MW+ of global data center opportunities that would see us transforming existing industrial sites into institutional-grade AI data centers," he said.
Conditions Remaining Before Close
The company stated that Vertical Data and Vertical Data Nordic AB are currently focused on satisfying the remaining conditions required to bring the transaction to a close, which is anticipated within the next several weeks.
The company said it is approaching the project with diligence and discipline, and that a full assessment of site requirements, development costs, customer demand, and financing needs will not take place until after the transaction closes.
Completion of the deal remains subject to a number of conditions, including securing financing, obtaining corporate approvals, receiving applicable regulatory clearances, and satisfying other customary and transaction-specific closing conditions.
The application to expand the site's power capacity to 100 megawatts also remains subject to applicable utility, regulatory, and technical processes and approvals.

Company Structure and Platform Model
Vertical Data describes itself as a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company operating across three distinct platforms. Its VerticalData.io platform provides enterprise GPU provisioning and managed infrastructure services. GPUfinancing.com is focused on arranging structured financing for GPU deployments.
The third platform, Vertical Edge, holds equity in data centers that the company sources, develops, leases and manages. Together, the company says these three platforms are designed to deliver hardware, financing, and facilities under a single corporate structure.
The Swedish acquisition, if completed, would represent a tangible international expansion for the company, which is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The move into Scandinavia aligns with broader industry interest in Nordic countries as destinations for data center investment, given the region's access to low-cost renewable energy and naturally cool climates that can reduce the operational costs associated with cooling large-scale computing infrastructure.
Strategic Context
The Sollefteå Municipality's public support for data center development in the Hamre Industrial Park, combined with its stated grid availability of up to 500 megawatts, provides the regulatory and infrastructure backdrop that Vertical Data is relying on as it pursues the expansion application.
However, the company was explicit in cautioning that t100-megawattatt figure represents a target under active application and is not a guaranteed outcome, given the regulatory and technical processes that must still be completed.
The transaction, if it closes on the anticipated timeline of several weeks, would give Vertical Data its first operational presence in Europe and its first foothold in what the company characterizes as a 250-megawatt-plus global pipeline of data center conversion opportunities. The company's stated strategy centers on taking existing industrial sites and transforming them into what it describes as institutional-grade AI data centers.
