TotalEnergies and KOGAS, South Korea's national natural gas company, announced the signing of a Heads of Agreement (HoA) on September 9, 2025, for the annual delivery of 1 million tons of LNG per year over a 10-year period starting from the end of 2027. The contract was awarded to TotalEnergies by KOGAS following an international tender. The agreement increases to 3 million tons per year from 2028 onward the volume of LNG supplied by TotalEnergies to KOGAS, which is currently the world's largest LNG importer.

These additional LNG volumes will be delivered to Korean industries, businesses, and households.

Supply Sources and Portfolio Integration

The LNG volumes will come from TotalEnergies' global supply portfolio, particularly from its U.S. LNG production and offtake. This arrangement allows TotalEnergies to secure long-term outlets in Asia, consistent with the growth of its LNG supply, particularly from the United States. TotalEnergies operates as the world's third-largest LNG player with a global portfolio of 40 million tons per year in 2024, achieved through its interests in liquefaction plants across all geographies.

The company maintains an integrated position across the LNG value chain, including production, transportation, access to more than 20 million tons per year of regasification capacity in Europe, trading, and LNG bunkering.
