Suzlon Group has secured a 200 MW wind energy order from Ayana Renewable Power, a deal that simultaneously pushes Suzlon's flagship 3.x MW turbine platform past a cumulative installed capacity milestone of 10 gigawatts.

The project, to be developed in Limbawas, Madhya Pradesh, represents the first order Ayana has placed with Suzlon and the third DevCo-led wind order Suzlon has secured across two states, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

Project Specifications and Scope

Suzlon will install 64 units of its S144 wind turbine, each carrying a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, to fulfill the 200 MW order. The company will execute the project through its end-to-end EPC offering, a scope that extends well beyond turbine supply to include land acquisition, Balance of Plant works, a Pooling Substation, Extra High Voltage transmission lines, commissioning, and ongoing operations and maintenance services. Power generated at the Limbawas site will be fed into the MPPCL state grid in Madhya Pradesh.

A Maiden Partnership Between Two Established Players

The order marks the first time Ayana Renewable Power has worked with Suzlon on a wind project. Ayana, which has assembled a 5.5 GW renewable energy portfolio spanning wind, solar, and round-the-clock renewable power, is using this project to establish a wind presence in Madhya Pradesh specifically.

Lakshmi Narayanan B, Head of Business Development at Ayana Renewable Power, said the project represents an important milestone for the company as it moves into the state.

He cited Suzlon's technology, execution track record, and integrated project delivery model as the factors that determined the partner selection. Narayanan said Ayana looks forward to delivering long-term value and contributing to India's clean energy transition through the collaboration.

Suzlon's Growing Footprint in Madhya Pradesh

For Suzlon, the deal reinforces a pattern of back-to-back wins in Madhya Pradesh. Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman and Co-Founder of Suzlon Group, noted that the company has now won two consecutive wind orders from the state, which he described as reflecting growing momentum in the market.

Tanti pointed to the state's wind potential of more than 55 GW at 150 metres hub height as a reason for optimism about Madhya Pradesh's role in driving the next phase of India's wind energy expansion. He added that partnering with Ayana, which strengthens its wind portfolio and enters Madhya Pradesh, aligns with that broader strategic outlook.

Integrated Execution Model Driving Order Wins

Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, said the company's ability to offer comprehensive project development and execution services has been central to its recent commercial momentum.

Kapur said the integrated approach to developing renewable energy assets has already produced tangible results, with four wind orders secured across two states within a short period. He framed the end-to-end capabilities as both a competitive differentiator and a means of creating new business opportunities for the group.

S144 Platform Crosses 10 GW Threshold

The order carries additional significance for Suzlon's product portfolio. With the Ayana contract in hand, the S144 turbine platform has crossed the 10 GW cumulative capacity mark.

The S144 sits within Suzlon's 3.x MW turbine family and has been the company's flagship offering as it pursues large-scale wind development contracts. The 10 GW milestone reflects the scale at which the platform has been deployed across projects in India. The Limbawas project's 64 turbines, contributing 201.6 MW of nameplate capacity, form part of the order base that pushed the platform over that threshold.

State Grid Connection and Power Offtake

The electricity generated at Limbawas will be delivered to the Madhya Pradesh Power Company Limited state grid. Suzlon's responsibility for the EHV line and Pooling Substation as part of the EPC scope means the company will manage the transmission infrastructure required to connect the wind farm to that grid, in addition to the generation assets themselves.

The inclusion of operations and maintenance services in the contract means Suzlon's involvement is designed to extend beyond the construction and commissioning phases into the long-term operational life of the project.
