Stellanor Completes Acquisition of Eight Redcentric Data Centers, Expanding UK Portfolio to Eleven Sites
DWS-backed Stellanor (a data center company) has completed its acquisition of eight data centers from Redcentric plc (IT managed services provider), bringing its total UK portfolio to eleven facilities and securing 39 MVA of grid capacity across the network. The deal, announced as complete on May 5, 2026, sees Stellanor take on approximately 450 enterprise customers previously served by Redcentric.
From Two to Eleven Facilities in Nine Months
The transaction marks a rapid scaling of Stellanor's operations since the company was established. According to Michael Tobin CBE, Chairman of the Board at Stellanor, the company has grown from two to eleven facilities within a nine-month period, backed by an infrastructure fund managed by DWS Group, the global investment manager.
The eleven data centers are now operational across a range of UK locations, including London North at Goswell Road, London East at Braham Street, London West at Heathrow, London City in Shoreditch, Reading, Cambridge, Woking, Gatwick, Byfleet, West Yorkshire, and Hemel Hempstead. Together, the portfolio carries 39MVA of secured grid capacity.
Tobin described the acquisition as a transformative step in building what the company positions as the UK's leading urban data center platform. He said the expansion enables Stellanor to serve accelerating demand for enterprise colocation and AI-ready infrastructure across the UK, with further expansion into Ireland and the Nordic regions planned.
Redcentric Refocuses on Managed Services
For Redcentric, the divestment of its data center assets represents a strategic repositioning around its core managed services business. Michelle Senecal De Fonseca, Chief Executive Officer of Redcentric plc, said the move allows the company to focus solely on its managed services offering at what she described as a pivotal time for its customers.
De Fonseca described Redcentric as a dedicated UK managed service provider with experience in supporting organizations in highly regulated markets, and said the company is positioned to help businesses navigate an increasingly complex technology landscape.
She expressed confidence that data center clients transferring to Stellanor would benefit from the platform approach and DWS backing, and noted that Redcentric intends to continue developing its partnership with Stellanor following the transaction.

Infrastructure Upgrades Planned Across the Network
Following completion of the acquisition, Stellanor said it is implementing coordinated infrastructure upgrades across the entire network. These upgrades include high-density power capabilities, advanced cooling systems, and enhanced fiber interconnection.
The company said the work is designed to enable the platform to support AI inference, machine learning, and real-time analytics workloads, while maintaining what it described as zero service disruption for existing clients.
The integrated portfolio is also described as being positioned to deliver high-density colocation capabilities, robust security, and sustainable operations through renewable energy procurement across the network.
Urban Proximity at the Core of the Strategy
Stellanor's stated model centers on urban data center locations, with the company describing its approach as focused on revitalizing existing urban sites to reduce environmental impact while delivering energy-efficient, low-latency infrastructure close to where data is created and consumed. The company characterizes this as building a new generation of urban data centers designed for proximity, performance, sustainability, and accessibility.
The company said its ongoing expansion across the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics remains focused on delivering what it describes as market-leading service quality for enterprise customers requiring both urban proximity and AI-ready capability.
Europe's Data Center Pipeline Is Moving Fast — Is Your Intelligence Keeping Up?
Every week across Europe, new data center developments are announced, tenders are issued, and contracts are awarded to firms that were already positioned and prepared. If your business is relying on fragmented sources and manual research to track this activity, you are almost certainly missing opportunities that your competitors are not.
The data center sector in Europe is undergoing a period of extraordinary investment, driven by cloud expansion, AI infrastructure demand, and digital sovereignty initiatives. Keeping a clear, structured view of where projects stand, from early planning through to completion, is no longer a nice-to-have. It is a competitive necessity for developers, contractors, equipment suppliers, and investors operating in this space.
The Global Project Tracking (GPT) platform by Blackridge Research gives you a continuously updated, structured view of the European data center development landscape, so your team can act on intelligence rather than chase it.
