Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation has completed the acquisition of all shares in its Vietnamese joint venture partner's stake, converting the formerly co-owned entity into a wholly owned subsidiary and positioning the Japanese electronics giant for deeper penetration into Vietnam's growing renewable energy market.
From Joint Venture to Full Subsidiary
Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation, a subsidiary of Sharp Corporation responsible for the company's energy solutions business and headquartered in Yao City, Osaka, finalized the acquisition of all shares held by NSN Construction and Engineering JSC in their shared joint venture.
The joint venture, originally established between the two companies under the name Sharp NSN Energy Solution JSC, has now become a wholly owned subsidiary of Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation.
NSN Construction and Engineering JSC is a Hanoi-based general construction company engaged in electrical and mechanical works, construction and civil engineering, and design consulting, led by President Thach Hoang Ngoc. With the transaction complete, NSN exits the partnership entirely.
Alongside the ownership change, the Vietnamese entity underwent a rebranding. The company changed its name to Sharp Energy Solution Vietnam Company Limited on May 28, ahead of the formal completion of the share acquisition. The newly named company is led by Representative Hideaki Shiraka and remains headquartered in Hanoi.

Six Years of Operations on the Ground
The origins of the Vietnamese entity date back to March 2020, when the joint venture was first established. Over the six years since its founding, the company has been engaged in engineering, procurement, and construction services for solar power plants, commonly referred to as EPC services, as well as operation and maintenance work, known as O&M services, across Vietnam.
Those operational foundations now serve as the platform from which Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation intends to build a more expansive and integrated renewable energy business in the country.

Strategic Rationale Behind Full Ownership
According to Sharp, the move to full ownership is expected to accelerate decision-making processes and enable more integrated business operations within Vietnam. The company cited continued growth in demand for renewable energy in Vietnam as a key driver behind the strategic shift.
By consolidating control under a single parent entity rather than operating through a shared governance structure, Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation aims to remove the coordination layers that typically accompany joint venture arrangements and respond more swiftly to market opportunities as they arise.
New Business Areas on the Horizon
With Sharp Energy Solution Vietnam Company Limited now operating as the central vehicle for the company's activities in the country, Sharp has outlined plans to expand into new business areas beyond the solar EPC and O&M services the entity has historically provided.
Two areas of focus have been identified. The first is rooftop solar power systems designed for factories and commercial facilities, a segment that reflects growing corporate demand for on-site renewable energy generation in Vietnam's industrial and commercial sectors.
The second is solar power plants combined with Battery Energy Storage Systems, commonly referred to as BESS, which integrate energy storage capacity alongside solar generation infrastructure.
Both directions align with broader trends in the regional energy sector, where demand for reliable, flexible renewable energy solutions has been accelerating.
Sharp's Energy Solutions Arm
Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation functions as the Sharp group subsidiary dedicated to the energy solutions business, encompassing solar power system sales and electrical construction work. It is headed by President and Representative Director Hirozumi Gokaku and operates out of Yao City in Osaka Prefecture.
The parent company, Sharp Corporation, describes itself as having more than 110 years of history in developing electronics products and technologies, operating under the business creed of sincerity and creativity and the corporate slogan of being in step with your future.
The Vietnamese subsidiary now sits within that corporate structure as a fully consolidated entity, with its business activities formally defined as the engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of solar power systems and related energy solutions.
