SAMSUNG SDI announced that the company is showcasing battery solutions and a product lineup optimized for AI data centers at Data Centre World Asia (DCWA) 2026, which opened in Singapore on Sept. 29.

The exhibition marks the first public unveiling of the company's next-generation cylindrical LFP battery, developed on the basis of SAMSUNG SDI's proprietary structural technology.

DCWA is Asia's largest data center exhibition, bringing together the entire data center ecosystem, from design and construction to operations and management. More than 600 companies are participating in this year's event.

Four Dedicated Zones Highlight the Company's Battery Portfolio

At DCWA 2026, SAMSUNG SDI's exhibition booth features four dedicated zones covering Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Battery Backup Unit (BBU), Samsung Battery Box (SBB), and Cell Line-up. The zones highlight a range of battery products powered by the company's differentiated technologies.

UPS Solution Achieves Industry-First Safety Certification

The UPS zone, located at the center of the booth, showcases SAMSUNG SDI's UPS solution, which recently became the first in the world to satisfy all requirements of the Indoor Large Scale Fire Test (Indoor LSFT) conducted by UL Solutions, a global safety science certifier.

LSFT is a safety evaluation designed to verify the risks of battery explosions and thermal propagation. By satisfying all test requirements, SAMSUNG SDI's UPS solution demonstrated industry-leading safety performance.

BBU Lineup Tailored for Emergency Backup Power

The BBU zone features SAMSUNG SDI's cylindrical battery lineup optimized for emergency backup power applications in AI data centers. The lineup includes the company's high-power, high-capacity 21700 nickel-based battery, which is equipped with a bottom-vent design for enhanced safety.

First Look at the Cylindrical LFP Battery

The headline product at the exhibition is SAMSUNG SDI's cylindrical LFP battery, which is being unveiled for the first time. Based on the company's proprietary structural technology, the battery delivers enhanced power output and capacity while further improving safety.

The SBB zone showcases prismatic lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries designed for Samsung Battery Box (SBB) 2.0, SAMSUNG SDI's integrated energy storage system (ESS) solution. By combining SAMSUNG SDI's proprietary prismatic form factor with LFP chemistry, the batteries offer enhanced performance and safety.

Customer Engagement and Technical Conference Participation

During the exhibition, SAMSUNG SDI will meet with global customers to share updates on technology development and conduct marketing activities. The company will also participate in a technical conference to present its battery solutions.
