Sabanci Renewables (renewable energy company), a wholly owned subsidiary of Türkiye's Sabanci Holding, has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Meta covering 100 percent of the environmental attributes from two utility-scale solar projects in Texas, the company announced.
The Projects and Their Scale
The agreement covers the Lucky 7 Solar project, rated at 100 MWac and 130 MWdc, and the Pepper Solar project, rated at 120 MWac and 156 MWdc. Together, the two facilities carry a combined capacity of 220 MWac and 286 MWdc.
Both projects are located in Texas and sit within the ERCOT market, the state's primary electricity grid. Under the terms of the agreement, Meta will receive 100 percent of the environmental attributes generated by the two facilities over the life of the contract.
Both Lucky 7 Solar and Pepper Solar are expected to reach completion in the second half of 2027. The projects form part of what Sabanci Renewables describes as its growing utility-scale renewable energy portfolio in the United States.
Economic and Community Impact
Sabanci Renewables stated that the two projects are expected to support more than 600 jobs during the construction phase. Beyond construction employment, the company said the facilities will create long-term employment opportunities during their operational lives.
The projects are also projected to generate more than USD 30 million in total property tax revenues for local taxing entities over the course of their operational lifespans, providing what the company described as lasting economic benefits to the surrounding region.
The company framed the projects as a contribution to Texas' growing demand for reliable energy infrastructure, noting that the additional renewable generation capacity they bring online will serve the ERCOT market at a time of expanding electricity needs across the state.

Strategic Significance for Sabanci Renewables
Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu, Strategic Investments and Operations President at Sabanci Group, described the Meta agreement as a significant step in the company's continued expansion in the United States.
"Entering into a long-term renewable energy agreement with Meta is an important step for Sabanci Renewables as we continue to grow our presence in the United States," Doğancıoğlu said.
"For Sabanci Renewables, it also marks another strategic milestone in our US market journey and reinforces our focus on building durable partnerships with institutional and corporate off-takers."
The Austin-based company currently holds a total capacity of 790 MWdc across its U.S. portfolio. It already operates two solar energy projects in Texas and has two additional projects under construction, which are the Lucky 7 and Pepper solar facilities covered by the new Meta agreement.
Sabanci Renewables has stated a target of reaching multi-gigawatt total installed capacity and said it intends to continue expanding through what it described as disciplined investment, structured financing, and a focus on long-term portfolio value.
Sabanci Renewables is part of Sabanci Climate Technologies and operates as a platform focused on the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale renewable power projects in the United States.
Meta's Perspective on the Agreement
Amanda Yang, Head of Clean and Renewable Energy at Meta, said the company views the agreement as consistent with its approach to energy procurement. "We're excited to support the development of the Lucky 7 and Pepper solar projects, which together will add new solar capacity to the Texas grid," Yang said. "This long-term agreement with Sabanci Renewables reflects the kind of partnerships we value, ones that bring meaningful new energy resources online."
The agreement reflects a broader pattern of large technology companies securing long-term contracted renewable energy supplies. Sabanci Renewables noted in its announcement that AI-driven digital and data center operations require long-term energy security, a factor the company said is shaping its continued focus on long-term contracted renewable energy investments in the United States.
Sabanci Holding's U.S. Energy Platform
Sabanci Renewables was established as a U.S.-based energy platform and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sabanci Holding, one of Türkiye's leading holding companies.
The parent company has described itself as having deep expertise in the energy sector. The U.S. subsidiary's activities are conducted under the broader Sabanci Climate Technologies structure, which supports a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets.
The Lucky 7 and Pepper solar projects represent the company's latest contracted assets in what has been a period of active expansion for Sabanci Renewables in the American market.
The company's existing two operational solar projects in Texas, combined with the two now under construction, place the firm's current total portfolio at 790 MWdc ahead of the eventual completion of the Lucky 7 and Pepper facilities in 2027.
