RWE Completes Sale of 350 MW F.E.W. Baltic II Offshore Wind Project to PGE
RWE has completed the sale of its 350 MW F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind development project to PGE, marking a significant transaction in Poland's offshore wind sector. The deal, which was first announced in December, includes the transfer of an Environmental Decision for the neighboring 44.E.1. site.
The F.E.W. Baltic II project is located approximately 50 km north of Ustka in the Polish Baltic Sea. PGE now holds full ownership of the project following the closure of the transaction between the two companies.
Environmental Approvals and Additional Assets
As part of the comprehensive transaction, RWE finalized the handover of environmental approvals and associated data for the adjacent 44.E.1. development area at the end of last year. This transfer provides PGE with additional development opportunities in the region.
The company stated that the transfer positions PGE to advance both sites as part of its expanding Baltic Sea portfolio. The acquisition gives PGE control over both the F.E.W. Baltic II project and the environmental permissions for the 44.E.1. area.

RWE's Continued Polish Operations
Despite divesting these offshore assets, RWE emphasized its continued commitment to Poland's energy transition through its onshore wind and solar activities. The company currently operates more than 700 MW of onshore wind and solar generation capacity in Poland.
RWE noted that PGE is better positioned to deliver the F.E.W. Baltic II project in combination with its wider Polish offshore portfolio. However, the company stressed that its own offshore wind ambitions remain unchanged despite this divestment.
RWE's Global Offshore Wind Portfolio
RWE operates 19 offshore wind farms across five countries, with a total capacity of 6.2 GW, representing 3.3 GW net capacity. The company maintains an active construction pipeline with four new offshore projects currently under development.
The projects under construction include Sofia in the UK, Thor in Denmark, OranjeWind in the Netherlands, and Nordseecluster in Germany. These four projects will collectively add 4.8 GW of capacity to RWE's offshore wind portfolio once completed.
The transaction represents a strategic realignment for both companies, with PGE expanding its offshore wind presence in Polish waters while RWE continues to focus on its broader international offshore development program and maintains its onshore renewable energy operations in Poland.
