OEG, an energy solutions business, has won a contract from OWP Gennaker GmbH to deliver a subsea corrosion protection system for the Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm, located in the German Baltic Sea. The project is being developed by offshore wind infrastructure platform Skyborn Renewables, and the award was announced on 10 August 2026.
Impressed Current Cathodic Protection at the Core of the Scope
The contract centres on the delivery of Impressed Current Cathodic Protection systems, known as ICCP, which are designed to protect the wind turbine foundations from corrosion across the full operational life of the wind farm.
OEG's scope of work covers the entire project lifecycle from start to finish, including detailed engineering, procurement, manufacturing oversight, offshore logistics, installation, testing and commissioning of the ICCP system.
The offshore installation campaign will be executed by OEG's project management and offshore teams, who will use what the company describes as proven installation methodologies alongside specialist subsea equipment.
Joint Technology Deployment with Cathodic Protection Specialist CORROSION
A notable element of the contract is OEG's partnership with cathodic protection specialist CORROSION, with whom it will deploy a system called the ICCP-Subsea Assembly Method, referred to as SAM.
The technology is a remote installation system that was jointly developed by the two companies. According to OEG, SAM enables the safe and efficient installation of ICCP systems on offshore subsea structures while reducing installation complexity and supporting efficient offshore execution.
The collaboration brings together what OEG describes as complementary expertise from both organisations. Rutger Lieverse, Commercial Director for OEG's Subsea division, said the partnership with CORROSION would deliver "a safe, efficient and reliable solution for one of Germany's most significant offshore wind developments."

Project Timeline and Next Steps
Engineering and procurement activities are set to commence immediately following the contract award. These will be followed by manufacturing support and system integration before the offshore installation phase begins, with all activity scheduled in line with the overall construction programme for the Gennaker wind farm.
OEG has not disclosed the financial value of the contract.

The award adds to what OEG describes as a growing portfolio of projects across Europe, where the company provides integrated offshore construction, installation and asset integrity services to developers and Tier 1 contractors. The Gennaker contract specifically extends OEG's presence in the subsea segment of the offshore wind market.
OEG's subsea services portfolio spans offshore construction and installation, cathodic protection, remotely operated vehicle operations, survey and positioning, inspection, repair and maintenance, cable support and intervention, and offshore project management and engineering services.
Lieverse said the contract reflects the confidence clients place in OEG's ability to deliver integrated corrosion protection solutions. "As offshore wind continues to expand across Europe, we're committed to supporting developers with innovative technologies and integrated services that maximise asset performance throughout their operational life," he said.
