Nvidia's graphics chips, which execute calculations in parallel to process massive amounts of data, have become the standard instrument for training AI services. As governments and corporations compete to develop their own artificial intelligence capabilities, Nvidia chip prices have skyrocketed.

Nvidia provides semiconductors to several Japanese corporations, including the mobile and data services divisions of Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp., SoftBank Corp., NEC Corp., Sakura Internet Inc., and Mitsui & Co.
