The NTPC Green Energy's subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy, starts commercial operations of the first 110.25 MW capacity of its 1,255 MW solar project at Khavda, Gujarat. This development brings the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC group to 80,265 MW. NTPC aims to achieve 50 percent non-fossil fuel-based power generation capacity and 60 GW of renewable energy capacity in its portfolio by 2032.
Project Details

Expansion Plans
The NTPC Green Energy is expecting further 699 MW units in renewables. So on its own it would be 2,019 MW. In JV and Subsidiaries, its total capacity would be 9,787 MW. And the total renewables would be 6,527 MW.
Joint Ventures
NTPC has also signed multiple MoUs with the Madhya Pradesh government to develop renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and pumped hydro, with a total investment of over INR 2 lakh crore. The company has formed joint ventures with various state governments and companies to develop renewable energy projects, demonstrating its commitment to expanding its renewable energy capacity. The commissioning of the 110.25 MW solar project in Khavda marks a significant milestone in NTPC's journey towards achieving its renewable energy goals, and the company continues to move forward with its expansion plans.
