Wpd GmbH has placed orders for 40 wind turbines from Nordex for nine onshore wind projects across Germany, representing a combined capacity of 279.2 MW. The comprehensive agreement includes 15-year service contracts covering turbine maintenance for all units.

Turbine Specifications and Configuration

The supply order comprises 36 N163/6.X turbines and four N175/6.X turbines, all of which will be installed on hybrid towers. The N163 turbines will feature a hub height of 164 metres, while the N175 turbines will be mounted on hybrid towers reaching 179 metres in height.

Following installation, the turbines are scheduled to operate primarily in 7 MW mode, maximizing their power generation capacity across the various wind farm locations.

Geographic Distribution and Timeline

The wind turbines will be deployed across multiple German states, including Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, and Lower Saxony. This geographic spread represents wpd's strategy to develop wind energy projects across different regions of Germany.

Delivery and installation of all 40 turbines are scheduled for completion in 2027, marking a significant timeline for the project development across the nine wind farm sites.

Service and Maintenance Agreement

The order includes comprehensive service agreements that will cover turbine maintenance operations for a 15-year period. This long-term maintenance contract ensures operational support for the wind turbines throughout a substantial portion of their operational lifespan, providing wpd with predictable maintenance costs and service reliability for the duration of the agreement.

The maintenance agreement covers all 40 turbines across the nine different wind farm locations, representing a significant service commitment from Nordex to support wpd's wind energy operations across multiple German states.
