Ghent, Belgium-based MRM Health, a clinical-stage biotech developing microbiome-based therapies for immune-mediated diseases, and Biocodex, an independent French pharmaceutical company with more than 70 years of experience in the microbiome field, announced on November 5, 2026, the launch of a strategic partnership to establish specialized manufacturing capabilities for live biotherapeutic products.
Partnership on Live Biotherapeutic Manufacturing
The collaboration brings together MRM Health's proprietary CORAL platform and microbiome science with Biocodex's pharmaceutical development, industrialization, and manufacturing capabilities.
The partnership is designed to support MRM Health's lead asset MH002 and other CORAL-based programs across the product lifecycle, from process development and clinical manufacturing toward potential future commercial supply.
According to the companies, by establishing access to specialized manufacturing infrastructure alongside clinical development, MRM Health is addressing a future manufacturing and supply requirement for complex live biotherapeutic products while strengthening the readiness of its programs for pharmaceutical partnerships and commercialization.
USD 16.87 Million Investment in Beauvais Facility
Biocodex will invest USD 16.87 million over the coming years in a new manufacturing infrastructure dedicated to live biotherapeutic products, including anaerobic manufacturing capabilities at its pharmaceutical site in Beauvais, France. Biocodex will fund, build, own, and operate the facility, while MRM Health will contribute its proprietary anaerobic manufacturing expertise to the design and implementation.
The infrastructure will be designed to support the specific manufacturing requirements of products derived from MRM Health's CORAL platform while also supporting other live biotherapeutic programs.
Dr. Sam Possemiers, Chief Executive Officer of MRM Health, said developing next-generation live biotherapeutics into successful medicines requires manufacturing capabilities as sophisticated as the underlying science.
"Together with Biocodex, we are establishing a specialized and scalable manufacturing pathway from clinical development to future commercial production," he said. "This partnership strengthens the readiness of both our pipeline and CORAL programs developed with pharmaceutical partners for future commercialization, bringing us closer to delivering microbiome-based therapeutics to patients."
Nicolas Coudurier, Chief Executive Officer of Biocodex, described the collaboration as strengthening the partnership the two companies began last year.
"By combining our expertise, we are helping to strengthen European industrial capabilities in the field of live biotherapeutics," he said, calling it an important step in supporting the development of new therapeutic approaches and enabling patients to benefit from them.

A Platform-Enabling, Non-Exclusive Framework
The partnership establishes a framework under which Biocodex may provide process development, analytical testing, and GMP manufacturing services for individual CORAL programs under program-specific agreements. MRM Health will have access to the manufacturing infrastructure for its proprietary, partnered, and outlicensed CORAL programs.
Importantly, the non-exclusive nature of the collaboration preserves MRM Health's flexibility to engage additional or alternative manufacturing partners where appropriate.
The companies state that this flexible arrangement provides an additional manufacturing pathway for lead candidate MH002 and the broader pipeline while reducing the need for MRM Health's pharmaceutical partners to establish specialized manufacturing pathways independently as programs advance toward commercialization.
The companies also emphasized that the arrangement preserves MRM Health's ownership of its platform and product-related innovations while strengthening its readiness for pharmaceutical partnerships.
From Process Development to Commercial Supply
MRM Health has developed proprietary expertise in the scalable manufacturing of complex bacterial consortia through its single-process CORAL production technology.
The new infrastructure will build on this proficiency and on Biocodex's industrial experience, providing what the companies describe as a coordinated pathway for technology transfer, process development, clinical manufacturing, and future commercial supply.
The facility will provide flexible manufacturing infrastructure across multiple scales. For MRM Health, it is intended to enable the progression of MH002 and other pipeline programs from development through later-stage clinical manufacturing and ultimately toward commercial-scale production. Capacity supporting CORAL programs will expand in line with the clinical and commercial progress of MRM Health's portfolio.
The timeline outlined by the companies calls for initial process development and pilot manufacturing activities to begin by 2027, with commercial-scale manufacturing targeted from 2030.
Background on MRM Health and Its Lead Program
MRM Health is a clinical-stage biotech developing live biotherapeutic products for immune-mediated diseases with high unmet needs. Its lead program, MH002, targets inflammatory bowel diseases and is currently being evaluated in the 204-patient STARFISH-UC Phase 2b study in patients with the indication, according to the company's announcement.
The announcement of the manufacturing partnership builds on a collaboration between the two companies that began last year, as referenced by Biocodex's chief executive. With the new agreement, the companies position the Beauvais facility as an additional pathway for MH002 and other MRM Health programs, moving from clinical development toward potential commercial supply.
The partnership underscores a growing emphasis within the live biotherapeutics field on industrialization capacity, an area the companies identify as a critical requirement given the complexity of manufacturing products based on live bacterial consortia.
For MRM Health, the arrangement provides access to dedicated anaerobic manufacturing infrastructure without requiring capital investment of its own, while for Biocodex, it extends the French company's long-standing involvement in the microbiome field into manufacturing services for next-generation live biotherapeutic products.
