Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) is acquiring a 10% stake in Fengmiao 1 offshore wind farm, a renewable energy project in Taiwan primarily owned and developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, with an investment expected to total around USD 171.44 million.

The project, which has a generating capacity of 495 megawatts, began construction in March 2025 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. MOL's investment in the project is driven by its aim to expand its renewable energy business and contribute to building a decarbonized society.

Project Overview

The Fengmiao 1 offshore wind farm is a significant project in Taiwan, with a capacity to generate electricity equivalent to the needs of approximately 650,000 households. The project's construction is currently underway, with MOL planning to dispatch personnel to support the construction phase. This will enable MOL to deepen its understanding of the offshore wind power business and gain valuable experience in the sector.

The project's development is a crucial step towards Taiwan's goal of increasing its renewable energy production and reducing its reliance on fossil fuels. The Taiwanese government has set ambitious targets for renewable energy, and the Fengmiao 1 project is expected to play a key role in helping the country achieve these goals. MOL's investment in the project demonstrates its commitment to supporting the growth of renewable energy in Taiwan and contributing to a more sustainable future.
