MN8 Energy LLC (solar and energy storage producer) has announced the commercial operation of two solar projects totaling 260 megawatts of capacity, both delivering power to Microsoft under long-term power purchase agreements.
The projects, situated in two distinct U.S. power markets, mark the completion of a significant clean energy commitment between the independent power producer and one of the world's largest technology companies.
Two Projects, Two Markets
The first project, Long Point Solar, is a 120-megawatt facility located in Brazoria County, Texas. It delivers new solar generation into the Electric Reliability Council of Texas' Houston load zone, which MN8 describes as one of the fastest-growing regions on the Texas grid.
The second project, American Beech, is a 140-megawatt facility situated in Halifax County, North Carolina. American Beech feeds power into PJM Interconnection, a market MN8 characterizes as experiencing rapid infrastructure growth.
Both projects are now fully online and operating under their respective power purchase agreements with Microsoft. Together, they represent 260 megawatts of alternating current capacity entering service simultaneously across two of the country's major electricity markets.
Meeting Hyperscale Energy Demand
Moe Hanifi, Senior Vice President and Head of Revenue and Commodities at MN8 Energy, framed the announcements in the context of expanding digital infrastructure requirements across the United States.
"As digital infrastructure scales across the U.S., energy solutions must scale with it," Hanifi said. "These projects deliver new solar capacity into two critical power markets and highlight MN8's role as a partner to Microsoft in meeting their sustainability goals."
The company stated that the completion of both projects underscores its track record of delivering contracted solar solutions for Microsoft and demonstrates its ability to originate, build, and operate projects at the speed and scale required by hyperscale energy customers.

Local Economic Impact
Beyond the energy capacity they contribute, both projects are expected to generate substantial financial benefits for the communities in which they are located. MN8 said Long Point and American Beech will bring millions of dollars to local governments through tax payments, with those funds directed toward schools, road maintenance, and other critical local services.
During the construction phase, each of the two projects created more than 300 construction jobs. Each project also supports nearly a dozen permanent positions following the transition to commercial operation. At Long Point in Texas, MN8 has additionally contracted a locally based provider to handle long-term maintenance and vegetation management at the site.
MN8's Broader Portfolio
MN8 Energy describes itself as one of the largest independent solar and energy storage producers in the United States. The company owns approximately four gigawatts of operational and under-construction solar capacity, along with 1.5 gigawatt-hours of battery energy storage and more than 40 high-power electric vehicle charging stations spread across 10 states. MN8 is headquartered in New York and maintains offices in South Florida, Dallas, and Madrid.
The Long Point and American Beech projects add to an established relationship between MN8 and Microsoft, with the press release noting that the two completed facilities continue a pattern of contracted solar delivery between the two companies.
Powering Smarter Decisions Across the United States Energy Landscape
How much opportunity is slipping through the cracks while your team manually monitors fragmented sources for power sector developments? In an industry moving as fast as energy infrastructure across the United States, delayed intelligence is the same as no intelligence at all.
The Global Project Tracking (GPT) platform by Blackridge Research was built to solve exactly this problem, aggregating power project data into a single, structured environment so your team can focus on strategy rather than research. From renewable buildouts to grid modernization initiatives, every major development is captured and organized for immediate use.
