Millicent Pharma, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on women's health, has announced a multimillion-dollar investment in its Larne manufacturing facility, alongside the creation of more than 20 new local high-quality jobs at the site.
The investment will support automation and productivity improvements at Larne, strengthening the company's manufacturing capabilities and innovation while enabling it to respond to growing demand for its products.
Specialty Pharma Firm Expands Larne Operations
The planned expansion will increase the Larne workforce from 50 to 70 employees. Recruitment will span a range of positions, including technicians, managers, supervisors, engineers, and quality assurance specialists.
Capital investment has already commenced and will continue over the next few years, with recruitment for the new roles actively underway following job postings published in early October.

Leadership Comments on the Expansion
Ryan Loughlin, Senior Vice-President of Millicent Pharma, said the company was delighted to announce its expansion plans in Larne.
Having been part of the local economy for seven years, he described the announcement as a tangible demonstration of the company's commitment to investing in both its production capabilities and job creation, which he called collectively a meaningful contribution to the region's prosperity.
Loughlin added that the team at Millicent Pharma are equally passionate about the company's research and development within women's health and about supporting Larne's community wealth-building initiatives, and that the company looks forward to seeing the impact the major capital investment will have both on the local economy and on women's health globally.
Community Wealth Building Partnership
As part of its commitment to the area, Millicent Pharma is a supporter of the Larne Community Wealth Building Partnership, a programme led by LEDCOM.
Ken Nelson, CEO of LEDCOM and Chairman of the Larne Community Wealth Building Partnership, said that as a vital part of the Larne life and health sciences sector, it is exciting to witness Millicent Pharma's growth plans as it progresses towards being a global centre of excellence within its target markets.
He noted that the company's ongoing investment plans will create attractive new employment and skills opportunities for the local area.
Loughlin also emphasised the connection between the company and the town, saying that Millicent Pharma's future and Larne's future are closely linked.
Supporting the Community Wealth Building Partnership, he said, is about ensuring that as the company grows, the benefits, skills, jobs, and opportunities are shared across the whole locality.
