Four leading companies from across Europe have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a large-scale hydrogen mobility corridor. The initiative, known as the See Hydrogen Mobility Consortium, aims to span Eastern and Central Europe, Turkey, and connect with Western Europe. The first pilot project is set to be rolled out in 2028 in Bulgaria.

Project Overview

The See Hydrogen Mobility project will provide cost-effective, pragmatic, reliable, and low-carbon hydrogen initiatives. The project is spearheaded by See Hydrogen Ltd. (Bulgaria) and supported by key partners RESATO Hydrogen Technology (Netherlands), HyGear (Netherlands), and Green Energy Park-Global (Netherlands). The goal is to build a fully integrated hydrogen truck mobility infrastructure by 2031.

Infrastructure Development

The full rollout of the project includes more than 100 hydrogen refilling stations spaced approximately 200 kilometers apart along the Trans-European Transport Network. Additionally, 17 regional hydrogen production sites will be established, and up to 10,000 hydrogen-powered trucks will be deployed through a pay-per-use leasing model. Green hydrogen, also sourced from green ammonia, will support a Net Zero value chain.

Partnership and Collaboration

The consortium is open to engaging additional stakeholders from the hydrogen value chain and welcomes discussions with public and private sector actors interested in accelerating the hydrogen transition across Europe and beyond. By September 2025, the Consortium partners will jointly finalize a Head of Terms, followed by a Joint Development Agreement later this year. The initiative is grounded in open collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technology neutrality, leveraging each partner's strengths to deliver scalable, reliable, and low-carbon transport solutions. The project's progress marks a significant step towards achieving Europe's decarbonization goals, with the collaboration of leading companies paving the way for zero-emission mobility in Europe, and this development will continue to unfold in the coming years.
