L&T and Holtec International Sign MoU to Strengthen Heat Transfer Solutions for Nuclear Power Sector

The Heavy Engineering business vertical of L&T signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Holtec International's Asia arm on November 3, 2025, to offer design-and-build solutions for Heat Transfer Equipment. Holtec International is a US-based provider of nuclear energy solutions.

This latest agreement builds on an existing partnership between L&T and Holtec for the global deployment of Holtec's SMR-300 (Small Modular Reactor). The existing partnership is supported by the 810 Authorisation granted to L&T by the US Department of Energy.

Strategic Collaboration Details

The strategic collaboration will combine L&T's nuclear manufacturing capabilities with Holtec's design expertise to deliver solutions for nuclear and thermal power plants worldwide. The partnership specifically focuses on Heat Transfer Solutions for conventional power plant island and balance of plant applications.

Together, L&T and Holtec will drive the development of technologies to optimize thermal regulation, maximize cycle efficiency, and ensure the reliable operation of power plants. The companies stated that this collaboration will contribute to global efforts to transition to renewable energy.
