LONGi, a global leader in solar innovation, has announced its partnership with Cero Generation for the UK's inaugural back contact technology deployment. The collaboration marks LONGi's first back contact venture in the UK market and its inaugural partnership with the pan-European renewables leader. The project, known as the Bramley Project, is a 59 MW solar plant that will deploy LONGi's Hi-MO 9 modules alongside Sungrow's battery storage systems.

Project Details

The Bramley Project is scheduled for construction commencement in Autumn 2025 and represents a transformative advancement for UK energy infrastructure. The project has been secured through Cero Generation's recently closed £200 million green financing package. LONGi's Hi-MO 9 modules will be used in the project, which boasts an industry-leading 24.8% module efficiency and -0.26%/°C temperature coefficient.

Environmental Impact

The Bramley Project is expected to have a significant environmental impact, with the creation of 80+ local construction jobs and a £50,000 community fund for regional initiatives. The project has also received EU Taxonomy certification, validating its compliance with stringent sustainability criteria. The use of back contact technology is widely recognized as the ultimate photovoltaic solution, establishing a new benchmark for efficiency and sustainability in Britain's energy transition.

Company Partnership

The partnership between LONGi and Cero Generation marks a significant milestone in the UK's renewable energy sector. Mr. Leon Zhang, President of LONGi Europe, emphasized the partnership's significance, stating that the Bramley Project "transcends conventional solar deployments – it's a declaration that BC technology has arrived as Britain's energy future." Marta Martinez Queimadelos, CEO of Cero Generation, noted that LONGi's cutting-edge BC modules align perfectly with their commitment to EU Taxonomy-compliant infrastructure.

The collaboration between LONGi and Cero Generation is poised to accelerate grid decarbonization through technological leadership, and the Bramley Project is expected to deliver maximum environmental impact while pioneering next-generation solar technology in the UK market.
