Juniper Green Energy announced on Wednesday that it has secured INR 1,739 crore in debt financing from the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA). The funding will support the growth and development of Juniper Green Energy and its subsidiaries, enabling the execution of large-scale renewable projects and strengthening its operational capacity.

Latest Financing Round

This round of financing follows Juniper Green Energy's successful USD 1 billion debt raise last year from leading financial institutions, including Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC), DBS Bank, HSBC Bank, and IREDA. The company statement confirmed that IREDA has successfully provided the INR 1,739 crore in debt financing to support the renewable energy company's expansion plans.

Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer of Juniper Green Energy, stated: "This funding from IREDA marks another important step in our growth journey. We remain committed to scaling renewable energy infrastructure that is sustainable and aligned with India's energy goals."

Current Operations and Capacity

Juniper Green Energy currently operates a total capacity of 1.45 GWp as of June 27, 2025. The company functions as an independent renewable energy power producer in India, focusing on the development, construction and operation of utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid renewable energy projects.

The company's operational portfolio demonstrates its commitment to expanding India's renewable energy infrastructure across multiple technologies and geographic locations.

Recent Project Commissioning

Juniper Green Energy has demonstrated strong execution capabilities through recent project completions ahead of schedule. The company recently commissioned the 103 MWp solar component of its hybrid plant at Karanja, in Maharashtra, completing this project approximately 16 months ahead of its scheduled commercial operation dates.

Additionally, the company has partially commissioned 25 MW of its 50 MW wind project in Gujarat, finishing almost three months ahead of schedule. These milestones showcase the company's ability to deliver renewable energy projects efficiently and ahead of projected timelines.

Strategic Focus and Growth

The debt financing from IREDA represents a continuation of Juniper Green Energy's funding strategy to support large-scale renewable energy development. The company's focus remains on utility-scale projects across solar, wind, and hybrid renewable energy technologies.

The funding structure allows Juniper Green Energy and its subsidiaries to strengthen operational capacity while pursuing the execution of large-scale renewable projects. This financial backing positions the company to continue its expansion in India's growing renewable energy sector.

The company's recent achievements in project commissioning, combined with the substantial debt financing, indicate its capacity to meet India's renewable energy development goals while maintaining operational efficiency across its project portfolio.
