GTT Secures Key Contract for Africa-Bound FLNG Vessel from Samsung Heavy Industries
French LNG containment specialist GTT has won a key contract for an Africa-bound floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessel, with the sub-contract awarded by Samsung Heavy Industries.

Samsung Heavy Industries awarded GTT a subcontract for the Africa-bound FLNG vessel project, as announced on September 9, 2025. The shipyard's order was for the tank design of a new Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) unit, which will be deployed in the African region. GTG will undertake the design of the cryogenic membrane containment system for the LNG1 storage tanks, which have a total capacity of 238,700 cubic meters. These tanks shall be outfitted with GTT’s Mark III technology.
