At Floating Offshore Wind 2026 in Aberdeen, Erebus by Blue Gem Wind has opened supply-chain engagement for its Celtic Sea floating offshore wind project, issuing the announcement. The initiative invites businesses across the Welsh and UK offshore wind supply chain to engage with the project's emerging procurement approach.
According to the company, early engagement is intended to give suppliers greater visibility of potential project requirements while helping the project team understand the capability, capacity, and investment needed across the supply chain to support delivery.
Potential Opportunities Across Multiple Sectors
Potential opportunities are expected to span a broad range of areas, including manufacturing and fabrication, ports and chain gaps,, vessels, engineering and construction, electrical infrastructure, technology, and operations and maintenance.
The project team will engage with suppliers, ports, industry organizations, and other stakeholders to understand existing capability, identify potential supply-chain gaps and explore opportunities for businesses to participate in the project.
The procurement Director Calls for Early and Open Dialogue
David Groves, Procurement Director at Erebus by Blue Gem Wind, said the company wants to work with the supply chain in a collaborative way from the outset.
"We want to engage with the supply chain early, openly, and meaningfully. The Celtic Sea has the potential to support significant new industrial and supply-chain opportunities, and understanding the market will be an important part of developing our procurement approach," he said.
Groves added that the Aberdeen event offered a direct route to suppliers: "Floating Offshore Wind 2026 is a great opportunity to engage directly with the supply chain. We want businesses to tell us what they can offer, where they see opportunities, and what they need from the project to invest, grow and participate."
