Envision Energy India has achieved a major milestone with the inclusion of its latest wind turbine model, the EN 182-5.0 MW, in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM). This certification clears the way for immediate deployment and supports recently secured orders totaling 2 gigawatts (GW) from independent power producers.
Turbine Tailored for India’s Wind Market
Engineered specifically for India’s complex wind conditions, the EN 182-5.0 MW turbine features a rotor diameter of 181 meters, 89-meter blades, and a hub height of 105.56 meters. It delivers a 40% higher Annual Energy Production (AEP) than Envision’s earlier EN 156/3.3 MW model, making it an optimal choice for underutilized low-wind zones across the country.
The turbine's advanced design significantly enhances power output, particularly in areas with moderate to low wind resources—regions traditionally overlooked for wind development. This performance leap opens up new opportunities to expand India's wind capacity more economically and efficiently.
Production Timeline and Supply Chain Readiness
Envision plans to begin deliveries of the EN 182-5.0 MW units in Q3 2025. To meet the ramp-up in demand, the company is scaling up operations at its blade manufacturing facility in Tiruchirappalli and its nacelle and hub assembly plant in Pune.
These production facilities are strategically located to support timely execution of the secured projects while enhancing local value creation and job generation.
A Strategic Boost to India’s Clean Energy Targets
The RLMM certification signals regulatory confidence in Envision’s latest technology and strengthens its footprint in India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
“This platform is a transformative solution designed to unlock the potential of India’s low-wind regions,” said RPV Prasad, Managing Director of Envision Energy India. “We are excited to support our IPP partners in meeting their sustainability targets while contributing meaningfully to India's energy transition.”
Envision’s expanded presence aligns with India’s broader goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030, positioning the company as a pivotal contributor to the national green energy mission.
