Encavis, the Hamburg-based independent power producer, has completed the acquisition of the Vietlübbe onshore wind farm from the UKA Group (developer and operator of renewable energy projects), adding 80 megawatts of installed capacity to its German wind portfolio in what the company describes as its largest wind energy acquisition in Germany to date.

Deal Details and Project Specifications

The Vietlübbe wind farm is located in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in northeastern Germany. The facility comprises 14 wind turbines and entered operation in October and November 2025, meaning the asset was acquired as a fully operational project.

With an installed capacity of around 80 megawatts, the wind farm is expected to generate approximately 200 gigawatt hours of electricity annually. Encavis stated that the project represents a significant contribution to climate-friendly power supply and to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The seller of the asset was the UKA Group, though no financial terms of the transaction were disclosed in the company's announcement.

Strategic Significance for Encavis

Encavis described the acquisition as another key step in its growth strategy and as an underscoring of its role as a long-term-oriented operator of wind and solar parks. The company said the deal simultaneously strengthens the expansion of renewable energies and regional value creation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Mario Schirru, CEO of Encavis, framed the acquisition within the company's broader European strategy, which centers on linking renewable generation with market access and flexibility.

"Across Europe, we are building large-scale renewable generation assets to ensure a reliable supply of green energy for industrial customers," Schirru said. "By linking generation with market access and flexibility, our integrated approach creates predictable and competitive pathways for decarbonizing industrial value chains."

The transaction reflects Encavis's stated focus on delivering affordable clean energy to industrial customers through what it characterizes as an integrated approach combining renewable generation, battery storage, and market-oriented optimization.

Encavis Portfolio and European Footprint

The Vietlübbe acquisition adds to a portfolio that Encavis describes as broadly diversified across onshore wind farms, ground-mounted solar parks, and battery energy storage systems.

The company operates across 13 European countries, with Germany, Italy, and Spain cited among its key markets. Its total installed capacity stands at around 4.9 gigawatts across that portfolio.

Beyond its own operational assets, Encavis also offers institutional investors opportunities to participate in renewable energy assets. Its subsidiary Stern Energy operates as a Europe-wide specialist in technical services for photovoltaic systems, further extending the company's presence across the renewable energy value chain.

Regional Context

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the federal state in which the Vietlübbe wind farm is situated, has been an active location for onshore wind development in Germany, given its favorable wind conditions and available land.

The Ludwigslust-Parchim district, where the project is located, sits in the southwestern part of the state. Encavis's emphasis on regional value creation in its announcement reflects a broader industry pattern of connecting large infrastructure investments to local economic benefits, though the company did not provide specifics on what form that value creation takes in this instance.

The wind farm, having been commissioned in the autumn of 2025, means Encavis is acquiring an asset with several months of operational history, allowing for some early performance data to inform the transaction.

The company's expected annual generation figure of around 200 gigawatt hours implies a capacity factor consistent with typical onshore wind performance in northern Germany.

Acquisition from UKA Group

The seller, the UKA Group, is a developer of renewable energy projects with a focus on wind and solar in Germany and other European markets. The sale of Vietlübbe to Encavis follows the pattern common in the European renewables sector, whereby developers bring projects through permitting and construction before selling operational or near-operational assets to long-term infrastructure owners and operators.

Encavis's acquisition of Vietlübbe fits squarely within this model, with the company taking ownership of an asset that UKA Group developed and brought into operation. No further details regarding the UKA Group's role following the transaction or any ongoing service arrangements were included in Encavis's announcement.
