DT Infrastructure (DTI) has been awarded the full Balance of Plant scope for the Carmody's Hill Wind Farm project in the Mid North region of South Australia. The 256MW utility-scale wind farm, developed by Aula Energy and Renewable Project Services, is located 180 km north of Adelaide and is scheduled to commence construction early 2026, with operations expected to begin late 2028.

Project Specifications and Capacity

The wind farm will feature 42 wind turbines and will become a major new source of clean energy, capable of powering more than 195,000 South Australia homes. The project represents a significant addition to Australia's renewable energy infrastructure as the country continues its transition to clean energy sources.

Partnership and Previous Collaboration

DT Infrastructure Chief Executive Officer John Anderson emphasized the company's pride in contributing to the project and highlighted the continued partnership with Aula Energy. “We are proud to be delivering critical renewables infrastructure that will support a clean energy future, create local jobs, and provide long-term benefits to surrounding communities,” Anderson stated.

Anderson noted that this milestone cements an important partnership for the business, as DTI collaborates once again with Aula Energy to deliver another major wind farm. The company plans to leverage insights and drive efficiencies at Carmody's Hill Wind Farm by drawing on delivery experience from the Boulder Creek Wind Farm project, which is currently in delivery.

Economic Impact and Employment

The project will generate significant economic benefits to the region, including the creation of 300 jobs during construction. Chad Hymas, CEO of Aula Energy, welcomed the announcement and outlined the company's broader objectives for the project.

“We're pleased to be partnering once again with DT Infrastructure to deliver Carmody's Hill Wind Farm,” Hymas said. “At Aula Energy, we're building enduring partnerships to lead Australia's energy transition, faster, smarter, and with shared value for all. With the support of our partners, we're committed to delivering a project that creates meaningful, long-term benefits for the Nukunu People, local communities, shareholders, and the sector.”

Project Development and Community Engagement

The contract award follows an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) early-work program designed to support project planning, preliminary engineering, geotechnical studies, environmental assessments and technical investigations needed to advance the project's design.

Carmody's Hill Wind Farm has been shaped through extensive consultation with regional industry, local businesses, and community stakeholders. Engagement programs are already underway to drive procurement opportunities, workforce participation, and sustained economic benefits for the region throughout both the construction and operational phases.

The project team will begin mobilizing in anticipation of commencing works at the start of 2026. DT Infrastructure describes itself as a leading renewables infrastructure delivery partner in Australia and states its commitment to partnering on large-scale wind and solar projects to pave the way for a clean energy future.

The announcement further demonstrates DTI's commitment to leading Australia's renewable energy transition, positioning the company as a key player in the country's shift toward sustainable energy sources.
