Dimension Energy Raises $857 Million to Fund Distributed Solar Portfolio Across Five States in the US

Dimension Energy (distributed energy operator) has secured USD 857 million in new capital to accelerate the buildout of its distributed solar platform, the Atlanta-based company announced.

The financing package combines a corporate credit facility upsize with a construction-to-term debt and tax equity arrangement and builds on a string of major capital raises the company has completed over the past year.

Two-Part Capital Structure

The USD 857 million in new financing is structured across two distinct transactions. The first is a USD 200 million upsize of Dimension Energy's existing corporate credit facility, which brings the total size of that facility to USD 650 million. Lead lenders on the corporate facility are Nuveen Energy Infrastructure Credit and funds and accounts managed by HPS Investment Partners.

The second component is a USD 657 million construction-to-term debt and tax equity financing package tied to a specific portfolio of distributed solar projects. Advantage Capital served as the tax equity investor in that transaction.

The debt portion was arranged by MUFG Bank, First Citizens Bank, ING Capital, and National Bank of Canada, each in the role of Coordinating Lead Arranger, with Fifth Third Bank participating as Joint Lead Arranger.

Portfolio Spans 29 Projects in Five States

The $657 million project-level financing will support a portfolio of 29 distributed solar projects totaling 149 megawatts of capacity. The projects are located across Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Dimension Energy describes the capital as enabling projects to move efficiently from development into construction.

The company did not disclose specific project locations, commercial operation dates, or offtake arrangements associated with the 29 projects in the portfolio.

Executives Cite Demand Environment and Execution Track Record

Rafael Dobrzynski, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dimension Energy, attributed the financing activity to the strength of the company's platform and rising demand for distributed power. "This capital will enable us to keep scaling with discipline and speed at a moment when demand for distributed power has never been higher," Dobrzynski said.

Don Dimitrievich, Global Head of Nuveen Energy Infrastructure Credit, pointed to the economics of distributed generation as a factor in the firm's decision to increase its commitment.

"With power demand accelerating and transmission and distribution costs rising alongside generation costs, distributed solar is well positioned to deliver reliable power closer to load," Dimitrievich said. He described the upsize as reflecting continued conviction in Dimension's execution capabilities.

Tom Bitting, Managing Director at Advantage Capital, cited the company's track record in moving projects from development through construction as a basis for the firm's tax equity participation.

Fred Zelaya, Managing Director at MUFG, noted the bank's support for the portfolio's goal of providing long-term sustainable energy to communities across the United States.

Recent Financing History Reflects Rapid Capital Accumulation

The August 2026 announcement follows a series of significant financings Dimension Energy has completed in a relatively short period. Earlier in 2026, the company closed a USD 650 million portfolio financing that the company described as a community solar project financing package. Prior to that, in October 2025, Dimension surpassed USD 1 billion raised in 2025 alone when it upsized its corporate credit facility to USD 450 million at the time.

The latest USD 857 million package builds on those transactions and, according to the company, reflects continued confidence from its financing partners in its operational capabilities and financial position.

Growth Target and Current Asset Base

Dimension Energy currently owns more than 600 megawatts of distributed energy assets that are either operating or under construction. The company has stated a target of reaching 1 gigawatt of operating assets by 2028, and it described the newly announced financings as supporting progress toward that milestone.

Since its founding, the company says it has developed more than 1 gigawatt of distributed energy assets in total and has invested over USD 2 billion across its 600 megawatts of operating or under-construction capacity. Dimension Energy is owned by Partners Group, a global private markets firm with $185 billion in assets under management.

Corporate Credit Facility Provides Development Flexibility

Dimension Energy characterized the expanded corporate credit facility as providing additional flexibility to advance its distributed solar pipeline. The company said the facility is designed to enable projects to move more efficiently from the development stage into construction, suggesting the corporate-level capital functions as a bridge mechanism ahead of project-specific financings of the kind announced alongside it.

The upsized facility's total capacity of USD 650 million matches the size of the portfolio financing the company closed earlier in 2026, reflecting the scale at which Dimension is now operating across both corporate and project-level capital structures.
