Strategic Expansion in Tokyo Market
TYO7 represents Digital Edge's seventh data center in Tokyo and ninth facility in Japan, underscoring the company's continued expansion in one of Asia's most important digital markets. The project reflects Hulic's growing role in shaping next-generation infrastructure for Tokyo, combining the real estate developer's expertise in high-value development focused on central Tokyo with Digital Edge's track record in delivering sustainable, network-rich digital infrastructure.
The facility was developed to address surging demand for digital services in Japan, driven by rapid adoption of cloud and AI applications. TYO7 is purpose-built to meet the needs of enterprises, carriers, and cloud providers operating in Tokyo's highly constrained real estate environment.
Technical Capabilities and Market Response
The data center offers high-power-density colocation services, direct access to multiple carriers and internet exchanges, and low-latency connectivity within central Tokyo. The facility's network-dense design provides customers with the infrastructure needed to support cloud, AI, and digital transformation initiatives in Tokyo's central business district. Demonstrating strong market demand, multiple anchor customers have already pre-committed to the facility before its official launch.
The pre-commitments indicate significant interest in the facility's strategic location and technical capabilities.
Environmental and Certification Standards
TYO7 is on track to achieve LEED Silver certification, reflecting a commitment to green building standards and energy-efficient design. The project represents a forward-looking approach that aims to support customers' digital transformation while reducing environmental impact. The facility's design incorporates environmentally responsible development practices as part of Digital Edge and Hulic's shared goal of building infrastructure that creates long-term value for customers, partners, and the broader Tokyo community.
