Deutsche Bank has committed USD 59.87 million as an Original Lender in the financing of Quinbrook's Supernode Stage 3 Battery Energy Storage System in Queensland, Australia, contributing to what is shaping up as one of the country's largest battery storage precincts.
A Major Financing Package for Queensland's Grid
Deutsche Bank's commitment forms part of a broader USD 330.34 million senior secured, non-recourse financing package supporting the construction and operation of the Supernode Stage 3 asset.
The financing is structured to underwrite both the build-out and ongoing operation of the battery energy storage system, which is intended to play a central role in strengthening grid stability across Queensland.
The project is part of Quinbrook's flagship Supernode battery storage precinct. Upon completion of the first three stages of the precinct, the combined nameplate capacity will reach 780 megawatts and 3,074 megawatt-hours of stored energy, enough to meet the needs of approximately 188,000 typical Queensland households.

The Supernode Stage 3 financing marks Deutsche Bank's second transaction with Quinbrook across the Supernode platform. Rachel Chia, Head of Project Finance for Asia-Pacific at Deutsche Bank, described the deal as a continuation of an existing partnership.
"We are delighted to continue our partnership with Quinbrook through the financing of Supernode 3, marking our second transaction together and further strengthening our collaboration across the Supernode platform," Chia said.
