DESRI, a U.S. renewable energy producer, and Meta have signed 850 megawatts of new power purchase agreements in 2026, bringing their total contracted capacity to approximately 2,575 megawatts of solar and battery storage projects spread across nine states.
New Agreements Cover Three States
The three power purchase agreements announced in 2026 cover projects in Oklahoma, Texas, and Mississippi. The largest of the new deals is a 500-megawatt project in Oklahoma, followed by a 200-megawatt project in Texas and a 150-megawatt project in Mississippi. The agreements are designed to support Meta's stated goal of adding new generation capacity to the electrical grid.
Hy Martin, Chief Development Officer of DESRI, described the expanded arrangement as a cornerstone of the company's long-term strategy. "Our energy infrastructure partnership with Meta now spans nine states and more than two and a half gigawatts across the country," Martin said.
"These projects support Meta's energy commitments, and they will generate significant economic development for local rural economies across the country. Our relationship with large companies like Meta is a cornerstone of DESRI's long-term strategy of delivering cost-effective, reliable energy projects to power the U.S. economy's growth."
Amanda Yang, Head of Clean and Renewable Energy at Meta, noted that the expanded agreement reflects the company's commitment to the communities where it operates.
"DESRI has been a valued partner as we work to bring new energy to grids across the United States. This expanded partnership, now spanning nine states, reflects our commitment to supporting the communities where we operate," Yang said.
Previously Contracted Projects Round Out the Portfolio
Beyond the three agreements signed in 2026, the two companies' broader contracted portfolio includes additional projects that were arranged prior to this year.
Among those previously contracted deals are a 150-megawatt project in Texas, a 300-megawatt project in Utah, and a 100-megawatt project in New Mexico. The announcement noted these represent a portion of the contracted work, describing them as being "among others" within the full nine-state footprint.
The combined portfolio of solar and battery storage projects spans states that were not individually named in full within the announcement, though the nine-state total encompasses both the newly signed agreements and the earlier contracted work.

Construction Timeline and Economic Impact
DESRI expects approximately 1,110 megawatts of the contracted projects to begin construction during 2026. The company stated that each project is expected to create hundreds of construction jobs and will contribute to local economies throughout each project's operational term.
The scale of near-term construction activity underscores the pace at which the two companies intend to move their contracted pipeline toward becoming operational assets.
With over a gigawatt of projects expected to break ground within the year, the partnership represents a significant near-term deployment of renewable energy infrastructure across rural areas of the United States.
Scholarship Initiatives Embedded in Project Agreements
DESRI indicated that it regularly includes funding allocations within its power purchase agreements to support high school scholarships for students interested in clean energy careers. The company said similar initiatives are included in several of the states covered by the Meta partnership agreements.
Martin specifically highlighted one such program in his comments. "Our DESRI team is proud to support the next generation of energy leaders through initiatives like the Virginia Clean Energy Community Leaders Scholarship program that will assist students in pursuing post-secondary education with a focus on energy and STEM," he said.
Virginia was mentioned in the context of the scholarship program, though it was not identified among the states named in the newly signed 2026 power purchase agreements.
DESRI's Broader Portfolio
DESRI and its affiliates develop, acquire, invest in, own, and operate long-term contracted renewable energy assets in the United States. The company's portfolio of contracted, operating, and in-construction renewable energy projects currently includes more than 80 solar, storage, and wind projects representing more than twelve gigawatts of aggregate capacity.
The Meta partnership, at 2,575 megawatts, represents a substantial portion of the company's contracted and in-development work. The announcement was made from New York.
DESRI described the relationship with large corporate offtakers such as Meta as central to its business model of delivering what it characterized as cost-effective and reliable energy projects to support economic growth in the United States.
