Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Petrovietnam have signed a Joint Development Agreement Implementation Deed for the Nam Trung Bo 1 offshore wind project in Vietnam, which carries an estimated cost of more than USD 4 billion, the Danish investment firm said.

The agreement forms part of CIP's partnership with Petrovietnam to develop the project. According to CIP, the deed was presented during an official MoU ceremony held at the Denmark-Vietnam Business Forum.

Signing at a State Visit Ceremony

The ceremony took place during Vietnam's General Secretary Tô Lâm's state visit to Denmark. The business forum was attended by Tô Lâm and Denmark's King Frederik X, and was hosted by Danish Industry (DI).

CIP partner Robert Helms joined Petrovietnam representatives to present the agreement at the ceremony. Helms also took part in discussions on Vietnam's energy transition at the business forum.

Wider Engagement During the Visit

CIP's involvement in the state visit extended beyond the signing. Earlier in the visit, CIP representative Torsten Lodberg Smed attended a high-level CEO roundtable and an official state banquet hosted by King Frederik X.

The roundtable brought together Danish companies with long-term ambitions in Vietnam to discuss investment, growth, and the conditions needed to accelerate economic cooperation.

Participants included Tô Lâm, senior Vietnamese ministers and officials; King Frederik X, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen; and DI chief executive Lars Sandahl Sørensen.
