Anthropic has signed a new agreement with Google and Broadcom for multiple gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity that the company expects to come online starting in 2027. The significant expansion of compute infrastructure will power Anthropic's frontier Claude models and help serve extraordinary demand from customers worldwide.

Record Revenue Growth and Customer Expansion

Demand from Claude customers has accelerated in 2026, with Anthropic's run-rate revenue now surpassing USD 30 billion, up from approximately USD 9 billion at the end of 2025. The company has experienced remarkable growth in its enterprise customer base, with over 1,000 business customers now each spending over USD 1 million on an annualized basis. This figure represents a doubling from the 500 customers announced during Anthropic's Series G fundraising in February, achieved in less than two months.

Krishna Rao, CFO of Anthropic, described the partnership as "a continuation of our disciplined approach to scaling infrastructure" and stated that the company is "building the capacity necessary to serve the exponential growth we have seen in our customer base while also enabling Claude to define the frontier of AI development." Rao characterized this as Anthropic's "most significant compute commitment to date to keep pace with our unprecedented growth."

Strategic Infrastructure Investment

The vast majority of the new compute capacity will be sited in the United States, making this partnership a major expansion of Anthropic's November 2025 commitment to invest USD 50 billion in strengthening American computing infrastructure. The partnership deepens Anthropic's existing work with Google Cloud, building on the increased TPU capacity the company announced last October, as well as its relationship with Broadcom.

Anthropic trains and runs Claude on a range of AI hardware, including AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs. This diversity of platforms allows the company to match workloads to the chips best suited for them, which translates to better performance and greater resilience for customers who depend on Claude for critical work.

Multi-Cloud Strategy and Platform Availability

Despite the expanded partnership with Google and Broadcom, Amazon remains Anthropic's primary cloud provider and training partner. The company continues to work closely with AWS on Project Rainier. This multi-platform approach has enabled Claude to maintain its position as the only frontier AI model available to customers on all three of the world's largest cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services (Bedrock), Google Cloud (Vertex AI), and Microsoft Azure (Foundry).

The partnership represents a strategic move to ensure Anthropic can meet the extraordinary demand from its growing customer base while maintaining the infrastructure necessary to continue advancing its Claude AI models at the frontier of AI development.
