AD Ports Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., a leading offshore wind equipment manufacturer, to explore cooperation spanning offshore wind supply chain development, maritime logistics, port infrastructure, and strategic vessel investments, the Abu Dhabi-listed company announced on June 16, 2026.

Scope of the Agreement

Under the framework of the MoU, both parties will explore a range of specific opportunities, including transportation solutions for offshore wind components, the development of pre-assembly hubs, cooperation on selected offshore wind tenders and industrial projects, and fabrication, assembly, and logistics solutions for offshore energy infrastructure.

The agreement reflects what both companies described as a shared ambition to combine their complementary strengths in order to accelerate growth within the offshore wind and energy infrastructure markets in Europe and other regions.

Friedrich Portner, Chief Commercial Officer of the Maritime and Shipping Cluster at AD Ports Group, said the partnership was designed to leverage the group's maritime and logistics capabilities in support of the offshore wind sector, which he described as a strategic growth area for the company. "Together, we aim to deliver more integrated, efficient solutions across the renewable energy value chain," he said.

Walid Oulmane, Chief Commercial Officer for New Products at Dajin Heavy Industry, said the MoU represented an opportunity to combine industrial strength, maritime expertise, and long-term strategic vision. "We believe both companies can create meaningful value together in support of the global energy transition," he added.

Building on a Series of Strategic Moves

The agreement with Dajin Heavy Industry is the latest in a series of partnerships and acquisitions through which AD Ports Group has been building its presence in the renewable energy and offshore sectors.

The company cited recent agreements with Masdar, Siemens Energy, and Green Parrot as part of this strategic trajectory, along with the acquisition of Balenciaga Astilleros Shipyard in Spain, which the group described as a specialist in offshore wind construction.

Together, these moves signal a deliberate effort by AD Ports Group to position itself as an integrated player across multiple points in the offshore wind value chain, from port infrastructure and vessel operations to component logistics and assembly services.

The Dajin partnership extends that approach by bringing in a manufacturer with specific expertise in offshore wind equipment, providing a potential link between the industrial production side of the sector and AD Ports Group's logistics and maritime capabilities.

A Fast-Growing Global Market

The MoU comes as the offshore wind energy market continues to expand rapidly on a global scale. According to figures cited by AD Ports Group in its announcement, the industry is projected to grow from USD 109 billion in 2026 to USD 307.5 billion by 2035, a near-tripling in market size over less than a decade.

The company attributed this growth to accelerating decarbonisation targets, large-scale renewable energy investments, and the expansion of offshore wind capacity across Europe, Asia, and emerging markets.

That market trajectory has prompted a wide range of port operators, shipping companies, and industrial conglomerates to seek footholds in the offshore wind supply chain, which requires specialized vessels, purpose-built port facilities, and complex component logistics to function at scale.

Pre-assembly hubs, one of the areas specifically identified for exploration under the AD Ports Group and Dajin MoU, have emerged as a particularly important infrastructure requirement as turbine sizes continue to increase and supply chains become more geographically distributed.

Complementary Capabilities

AD Ports Group, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange under the ticker ADPORTS, describes itself as a global enabler of trade, industry, and logistics solutions.

Its existing maritime and port infrastructure provides a foundation for the kinds of large-scale component handling and vessel coordination that offshore wind projects demand.

Dajin Heavy Industry, for its part, brings manufacturing expertise in offshore wind equipment, making the partnership a potential bridge between production and deployment across the supply chain.

The two companies indicated their intention to pursue opportunities in Europe as a primary focus, though the MoU framework also encompasses other regions. Europe remains the most mature offshore wind market globally, with established regulatory frameworks and significant pipeline capacity, making it a logical starting point for a partnership targeting scalable solutions in the sector.

The MoU does not constitute a binding commercial agreement, but sets out a framework for the two parties to explore and develop specific opportunities together. Further details on any resulting projects or formal commercial arrangements were not disclosed at the time of the announcement.
