ACME Solar Holdings announced on Tuesday the commissioning of an additional 155 MW/470.25 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan. The latest deployment brings the company's total operational BESS capacity to 297.67 MW/951.74 MWh, forming part of a broader pipeline of 835 MW/3,114.64 MWh planned across its special purpose vehicles.

Grid Connection and Revenue Strategy

The newly commissioned projects are connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and will operate on a merchant basis. This operational structure allows ACME Solar to generate additional revenue by leveraging price differences between peak and off-peak electricity demand periods.

The storage systems are designed to charge during periods of low demand and discharge power during peak hours. This operational pattern helps balance supply and demand while enhancing overall grid stability.

Grid Reliability Enhancement

ACME Solar stated that the storage systems will improve grid reliability through their charging and discharging cycles. The company indicated that the systems contribute to balancing supply and demand dynamics across the electrical grid.

The battery energy storage systems operate by storing electricity during off-peak periods when demand is lower and releasing it during peak demand hours, supporting grid stability functions.
