ABO Energy KGaA has signed a framework agreement to sell its entire Argentine renewable energy portfolio to Novva Group, a Singapore-registered platform specializing in data centers and renewable energy. The deal, announced covers projects at the development stage with a combined capacity of 3.17 gigawatts.

Terms and Timeline

The transaction was formalized through a framework agreement signed in Wiesbaden on September 15, 2026. The deal is not yet complete. According to ABO Energy, the transaction is expected to be finalized following a confirmatory due diligence process, with a share purchase agreement to be executed in the coming months. The framework agreement was signed by Steven Liu, Founder and CEO of Novva, and Dr. Karsten Schlageter, Managing Director of ABO Energy.

A Second Deal Between the Two Companies

The Argentine portfolio sale is not the first transaction between ABO Energy and Novva. Earlier in 2026, Novva acquired solar projects in Colombia from ABO Energy with a combined capacity of approximately 40 megawatts.

The Argentine deal represents a substantially larger transaction in terms of capacity and marks a continuation of what both companies described as a successful working relationship.

Dr. Karsten Schlageter said the transaction fits within ABO Energy's stated strategic direction. "The upcoming transaction is in line with our strategy of focusing on core markets. We are pleased to continue our successful collaboration with Novva," he said.

What the Deal Means for Novva

For Novva, the acquisition is framed as a significant expansion of its presence in Latin America. Steven Liu described the deal as a milestone for the company's regional ambitions and its broader positioning in infrastructure connected to artificial intelligence.

"Securing this portfolio marks a pivotal leap forward for our Latin American pipeline," Liu said. "This upcoming acquisition propels Novva into the top tier of regional renewable energy platforms and establishes us as one of the fastest-growing infrastructure players powering the age of Artificial Intelligence."

Novva is registered in Singapore and operates as a platform focused on both data centers and renewable energy development.

ABO Energy's Strategic Reorientation

The sale of the Argentine portfolio reflects ABO Energy's stated focus on core markets, a strategy that appears to involve divesting assets in markets the German developer considers peripheral to its primary operations.

ABO Energy KGaA is headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany. The company did not specify in its announcement which markets it considers core, but the divestiture of both its Colombian solar projects earlier in the year and now its Argentine holdings to the same buyer suggests a deliberate withdrawal from Latin American development activity.
