Wonder Valley project in Alberta
Wonder Valley is planned as the largest AI compute data center park on earth. It is being built by the Municipal District of Greenview and O’Leary Ventures in partnership at Greenview Industrial Gateway, near Grande Prairie, Alberta. The project will be powered by off-grid natural gas and geothermal power systems.
Designed with a total capacity of 7.5 GW of total power and an IT capacity of 5.6 GW, this data center will be built in multiple phases over a time period of 5-10 years.
Phase 1 will feature 1.4 GW capacity spanning 2500 acres and an investment of USD 2 billion. The subsequent phases will have an annual increment of 1 GW each. Phases 2 and 3 will span approximately. 5343 acres and 4359 acres each.
The total project will consist of 58 data center buildings and span across 35 million sq. ft with a project cost of over CAD 70 billion (USD 51.8 billion). This project cost will include infrastructure power, data centers, and ancillary structures. The project will be near pipeline infrastructure, water sources, and a fibre optic network.
Woodland's Mihta Askiy Data Center Redevelopment
Woodland's Mihta Askiy Data Center is a redevelopment project planned by Woodland Cree First Nation, in collaboration with Sovereign Digital Infrastructure, an Alberta-based firm.
The project aims to acquire a partially completed power plant to a natural gas-powered data center with a capacity of 650 MW. The project focuses on sustainability, using natural gas power systems to power the data center, which efficiently reduces the carbon footprint. The Mihta Askiy Data Center will be located 500 km northwest of Edmonton and 40 km northeast of Peace River. The project has an estimated value of USD 1500 million and is expected to be commissioned by 2027.
Beacon AI Centers (Beacon) Data Center
Beacon AI Centers (Beacon) Data Center is a 400 MW data center located in Foothills County, near High River, Alberta. This USD 4 billion data center project will be supported by on-site power generation. The data center will consist of five two-storey buildings on 260 acres.
The project is being developed by Beacon AI Centers, which was founded by Nadia Partners in 2025. The construction is expected to start in late 2025 or early 2026, with full build-out expected by 2030.
Carpere Valley's Moore Data Center
The Carpere Valley data center is a 150 MW data center announced by Carpere Canada in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The data center is being built at a former Valley View Center. This 150 MW data center is designed to integrate high-performance computing with healthcare. This redevelopment is a part of USD 485 million initiatives to create Canada's first AI wellness center. The waste heat generated from the data center will be utilized to warm a greenhouse nearby.
The data center will host newly constructed buildings totalling over 327,000 square feet. Project developer Carpere is planning to self-invest in this data center and is working to secure power infrastructure from SaskPower. The first phase of construction is expected to begin in late 2025 or early 2026, with full build-out of the data center from 2025 to 2030. The project was announced in June 2025 by the developer and is currently in the planning stage.
Gryphon's Alberta Data Center Development
The Gryphon's Alberta Data Center is developed by Gryphon Digital Mining. The company acquired an 850-acre industrial site from Captus Energy in Southern Alberta near Pincher Creek. On this site, Gryphon will build an AI and high-performance computing (HPC) data center infrastructure.
The Alberta Data Center site is expected to produce up to 130 MW by the end of 2026. The project is currently in the planning stage and is expected to have an investment of USD 500 million.
eStruxture's CAL-3
The eStruxture's CAL-3 is a 90 MW upcoming data center in Rocky View County, Alberta, which is approximately 5 km north of Calgary. This data center is a part of the major eStruxture data center developed by eStruxture Data Centers.
Cal-3 is one of the most advanced data centers that is set to become Alberta's largest data center once operational. Designed to deliver 90 MW of power spanning 300,000 square feet, the CAL-3 is expected to come online in the second half of 2026. CAL-3 will feature a power density of up to 125kW+ per cabinet, with each data hall spanning 8,625 square feet. It will also have high-density redundant cooling modules and multiple redundant power distribution paths. CAL-3 will have distributed redundant 2N topology UPS and backup generators.
The Calgary data center already has two operational data centers, CAL-1 and CAL-2, each with a capacity of 9 MW and 20 MW. CAL-3 is designed to support high-density computing, cloud services, and AI workloads and will feature a Tier 3 design that will ensure scalability and reliability to meet the demand of digital infrastructure.

Qscale's Toronto Hyperscale Facility
QScale's Toronto hyperscale facility is a multi-billion-dollar facility planned at the Toronto, Ontario location. With an investment between CAD 2.5 billion (USD 1.8 billion) and CAD 4 billion (USD 2.9 billion). This is set to be one of the largest data centres in the region. This project is built with the support of Hydro One for power infrastructure and is backed with CAD 320 million in financing from Desjardins Group, Scotiabank, and Export Development Canada. The capacity of the project is yet to be disclosed.
Yondr Group's Toronto Data Center
The Yondr data center is a 27 MW facility that broke ground in Toronto, Ontario, in January 2025. This project is being built on a 4.5-acre site and is Yondr's first data center in Canada. The project comprises a three-storey 27 MW data center, which is scheduled to achieve ready for service (RFS) status by mid-2026.
The Toronto data center will feature a closed-loop cooling design, which means once the chilled water loop is filled, the facility will not need to consume water for cooling.
