RRP Electronics Secures 100-Acre Land Parcel for INR 1.2 Billion Semiconductor Facility in Maharashtra
RRP Electronics announced on Friday that it has received a letter of comfort from the Maharashtra state government for a 100-acre land parcel in Navi Mumbai to establish an INR 1.2 billion semiconductor fabrication facility. The company, which legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar backs, received the letter of comfort from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during a late event on Thursday.
Project Specifications and Capacity
The semiconductor facility will be relocated from Sherman, Texas, from one of the world's most established semiconductor companies, according to the company's statement. The project, with an estimated cost of INR 1.2 billion, is positioned to be one of the region's largest and most advanced fabrication facilities. The facility will have a production capacity of 125,000 wafers per month. RRP Electronics expects to begin construction work within six months of securing the land. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be commissioned by the second quarter of 2026.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the state government's commitment to supporting the semiconductor initiative. The company quoted Fadnavis as stating that the government is "fully committed to extending all necessary support, be it in infrastructure, policy facilitation, or skill development to ensure the success of this initiative." The acquisition positions Maharashtra at the heart of India's Semiconductor Mission roadmap, according to the company's statement.
