NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to collaborate on the development of renewable energy projects across India. The agreement was formalized in Hyderabad and exchanged in the presence of N. Balram (IRS), Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL, along with senior officials from both organizations.

Multi-Technology Renewable Energy Partnership

Under this strategic partnership, NGEL and SCCL will jointly identify, evaluate, and pursue business opportunities in various renewable energy segments. The collaboration encompasses large-scale solar power plants, onshore wind projects, and hybrid systems combining solar, wind, and storage. The partnership is expected to leverage the technical strengths and operational experience of both entities, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to India's growing demand for green power.

The MoU focuses on multi-technology renewable energy development and future-ready clean energy solutions. Both companies will combine their resources and expertise to accelerate the deployment of clean energy infrastructure in the coming years.

Advanced Clean Energy Technologies

Beyond traditional renewable energy projects, the MoU also covers advanced clean energy technologies. The companies will assess opportunities in energy storage systems, green hydrogen and its derivatives, and green mobility solutions. These emerging areas are likely to play a crucial role in supporting India's long-term climate commitments and decarbonization goals.

The initiative is closely aligned with the strategic directions of both NGEL and SCCL, which aim to broaden their renewable energy portfolios and support India's rapid transition to low-carbon energy systems.
