Chinese solar manufacturer GCL System Integration has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Thai clean energy company Getz Energy for the supply of up to one gigawatt equivalent of photovoltaic modules over the next three years, marking a significant commitment to Thailand's accelerating solar energy expansion.
Agreement Details and Strategic Context
The MOU was signed at Getz Energy's "Getz Energy Open House: Welcome to the Smart Energy Revolution" event held in conjunction with GCL SI partners and stakeholders.
The signing ceremony took place as Thailand continues to ramp up its renewable energy development program, with utility-scale solar playing an increasingly central role in the country's low-carbon generation strategy.
Getz Energy Company Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited, known as GPSC, which serves as the power and energy flagship of the PTT Group, Thailand's state-linked energy conglomerate.
The agreement aligns with GPSC's long-term renewable energy strategy and is intended to strengthen Getz Energy's position within Thailand's growing clean energy market through utility-scale solar projects and intelligent energy management solutions.
Under the terms of the MOU, GCL SI will supply photovoltaic modules as well as battery energy storage systems for large-scale solar and hybrid solar applications.
Deliveries are expected to be phased in accordance with construction and grid connection schedules to ensure timely module availability throughout project execution.
Products Featured at the Getz Open House
At the exhibition component of the event, GCL SI displayed several of its flagship module products, including the SiRo T Series NT12/66GDF module, as well as the SiRo B Series NR12R/66GDF and NR10R/54BGDF modules.
Solar cells corresponding to each of these modules were also on display, giving attendees a direct view of GCL SI's cell technologies and manufacturing capabilities.
The SiRo T Series is designed for utility-scale and industrial applications, integrating what the company describes as advanced TOPCon 2.0 technology along with bifacial power generation capability, enhanced operational stability, and long-term durability.
GCL SI positions the series as engineered to deliver reliable energy output under demanding real-world operating conditions, with optimization for industrial rooftops, large-scale solar installations, and high-temperature environments.
The SiRo B Series is built on GCL's proprietary GPC technology platform. The company describes it as combining high conversion efficiency with enhanced visual integration for premium distributed solar applications.
Technical features cited by GCL SI include ultra-low reflectivity films, high-purity FBR granular silicon, and advanced passivation technologies. The series is intended to deliver strong performance while maintaining what the company calls a refined visual profile.

GCL SI's Regional Expansion Strategy
For GCL SI, the MOU represents a further step in consolidating its presence across Southeast Asia's solar market. The company stated that the agreement reinforces its position specifically within Thailand's renewable energy sector and reflects its growing role in meeting regional demand for higher-efficiency photovoltaic technologies used in large-scale solar applications.
The partnership is part of a broader commercial and strategic push by GCL SI into Southeast Asian markets at a time when the region is experiencing rapid growth in utility-scale renewable energy development.
The company pointed to rising electricity demand, ongoing grid modernization programs, and decarbonization targets across the region as primary drivers of investment in next-generation solar infrastructure.
GPSC and Getz Energy's Clean Energy Portfolio
For GPSC and its subsidiary Getz Energy, the agreement is intended to support the continued growth of the group's renewable energy portfolio. Utility-scale solar is described as a key component of the PTT Group's long-term low-carbon generation strategy, and the MOU is framed as advancing that objective through access to GCL SI's advanced module technologies.
The partnership also encompasses a focus on next-generation solar technologies and regional energy infrastructure development, according to both companies.
The collaboration is structured to support not only module supply but also intelligent energy management solutions, extending the scope of the relationship beyond simple procurement into broader project execution and integration.
Southeast Asia's Solar Market Momentum
The agreement between GCL SI and Getz Energy arrives against the backdrop of intensifying solar investment activity across Southeast Asia. The region's combination of growing power consumption, government-driven decarbonization commitments, and the push to modernize electricity grids has created substantial demand for utility-scale renewable energy projects, with solar generation emerging as a principal vehicle for meeting those needs.
Thailand in particular has been accelerating its renewable energy development, making the country a focal point for international solar manufacturers and developers seeking to establish footholds in the region's expanding clean energy market.
The three-year timeframe of the planned supply arrangement reflects the scale of project pipeline activity that both parties anticipate in the Thai market over the near to medium term.
Powering Your Pipeline: Stay Ahead of Thailand's Energy Infrastructure Boom
Across Thailand, the power sector is undergoing a dramatic transformation, renewable energy targets are accelerating, grid modernization programs are expanding, and capital investment in generation and transmission infrastructure has never been higher. The question is: does your business have the intelligence it needs to act on these opportunities before your competitors do?
Timing is everything in power sector development. Whether you are an EPC contractor, equipment supplier, project financier, or government agency, the ability to monitor project lifecycles from early planning through to completion can make the difference between winning work and watching from the sidelines. Fragmented data sources and slow market intelligence simply cannot keep pace with the speed at which Thailand's energy landscape is evolving.
