Turkish renewable power producer Fortis Energy plans to install up to 2 GW of renewable electricity and green hydrogen production capacity across several Balkan countries in the next five years.

The company plans to construct onshore wind, solar photovoltaic, and biogas plants as well as electrolyzers to produce green hydrogen. The facilities will be located in Albania, Bosnia, Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Turkey.

Fortis Energy intends to construct a cumulative capacity of 1,036 MW of power plants in Serbia. Albania is anticipated to receive approximately 644 MW of these systems, whereas North Macedonia will house 252 MW and Bosnia-Herzegovina will host 40.6 MW.
